I loved this show so much growing up.

Did anyone else play Ghostbusters with their friends? We made proton packs out of metal frame hiking backpacks, flash lights and telephone chords.

Fun fact: Bill Murray played Peter in the movie, and Lorenzo Music did the voice of Peter Vinkhman (sp?) in the cartoon. Then Lorenzo music worked as the voice of Garfield in its cartoon, after which Bill Murray happened to do the voice of Garfield in the (horrible) movie.

I remember an episode of Tiny Toon Adventures that parodied Citizen Kane.....but by the time I was old enough to see Kane I'd forgotten most of the cartoon. I'm surprised you remembered long enough to be spoiled.

It's funny how many references there are to old movies in kid's shows that you don't get until years later. I remember the Rosebud thing from Tiny Toon among other things, then there was an episode of Animaniacs that parodied Apocalypse Now. Probably tons of other stuff that I don't remember now.

haha EXTREME Ghostbusters. A BLACK GUY, a POTHEAD, a GOTH GIRL, a CRIPPLED MAN. There wasnt even anything 'wrong' with the black guy like the other three, which is mildly insulting to the black guy lol

The guy in the wheelchair looked almost exactly like Ray from the original cartoon too. But apparently he was a different person! I never watched any episodes of it though.

I was curious so I looked it up on youtube. All the new characters look almost exactly like the old characters. Well, except the goth girl I suppose. I wonder why they went that route?

That was back during the 'lets make everything edgy' phase of cartoons. Except this one they tried to make edgy AND politically correct, which doesnt work
