Begins with an awesome chase sequence, and remains cool until you start walking on empty streets, and then you gain your powers and things start going downhill, till it reaches the WW1 bit, which was horrible, and then the ending that plays by itself.

It's been known for a long time now that it's not a remake. The remade Butcher Bay is an unlockable after you beat the game. It's a full sequel.

I almost rebought an Xbox for this game, then I was gonna get the PC version but it kept crashing, but I'm glad I waited for this. 
Kinda not too happy about online MP-- throwaway MP modes seem to take away from single player campaigns in these kinds of games (i.e. games with campaign focus.)  I felt like that happened with the Darkness. 

Nonetheless, this will be hot.  This game is the best thing Vin Diesel has ever done.

I dunno, The Darkness contains the entire movie To Kill a Mockingbird, so if you never leave the first room and just watch the movie it might be kind of enjoyable.
