Dave is totally gay for Rush. They have quiet talks in Dave's bedroom- Dave wants to go on walks.

Other than that the game is decent fun. Its definitely rough around the edges, and i'm not just talkin about the framerate issues and texture loading LULZ. Its mostly stuff like party interaction and party requests so far. I'll get goofy requests like "ME WANT IRON" and im like "k." but they dont tell me where to find it. Thankfully I remember a few spots where things are, and I spend a fair bit of my time leveling up the drill bot, but still, gimme a hint fucks.

The other thing is they'll ask you dumb stuff. Like the mage frog guy will ask me if he should focus on melee. Wtf, stick to magic, wtf would you go melee. Or after grinding dungeons someone will ask if we could leave the city and grind some dungeons and its like WHERE HAVE U BEEN?!?!?!

Also as far as ive seen aside from the skill focus questions saying no doesnt seem to do anything. Plus they dont say "AWESOME THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO GET THIS SHIT 4 ME LOLZ >_< omghi2u" so finding the item they want is kinda anti-climactic.

I like the formation system but is there a way to control relative positioning of unions I wonder. Cause id like to make one union full on assault focus and the other two flank resistant to cover the melee union. Spose that isnt possible!

You can set up unions how you want. i.e. all attack people, another all healing people, or a mixture of the two

Well I mean relative positioning, so I could make two in anti-flank formation and have them on either side of a union with a melee focused formation. This mostly matters early game when i can't completely fill 3 unions yet.

I'm not touching the game until the secret 2 achievements are figured out. I'd hate to have to play through the entire game and not have Rush die.

Yeah that one is like argh, ill never get that one. Its a pretty bitch of a game achievement wise. It gives you stuff like battlemaster achievement under 4 hours in. I cant imagine anyone is a battlemaster at that point

The achievements are actually doable and dont require much effort, aside from killing the occasional boss from a quest. You dont get anything for beating the game though.

Should also mention that if you dont do a particular quest in Disc 1, you can miss two achievements

* Godslayer (kill The Fallen)

which in turns makes you miss

* Heir of Ultimate Fate (create a Ragna-Rock)

because when you kill The Fallen, you get an item that is required to make it

But with the DLC that they released, you can get Ragna-Rock if you kill yet another enemy that isnt achievement related

hrm, ok. I better look at some guides or something tonight to make sure im not missing anything. Im only 5 hours in but I aside from resource harvesting I havent dumped a lot of time into itemization

Well I read it wrong. Underwelt is in Disc 2, and if you go there, the guy who gives you the quest disappears and you cant do it anymore. The Fallen quest should appear before Mt. Vackel in Disc 1.

Nah, the guy hacked to unlocked those. Nobody knows how to get it, but at least you dont have to beat the game without dying.

I got my copy and popped it in. It is a decent looking game, not great. The character models have a plasticky look to them, kind of like in Lost Odyssey. But overall everything looks alright. I installed to HDD but I still get some pop-in and framerate drops. Nothing too bad, and the load and save times are plenty quick.

It looks like that in order to get those 2 achievements, you have to do every quest in the game. This isn't a problem, except that there -are- missable quests on each disc.

Nobody has actually confirmed this, but I think it is gaining traction - considering it is called "The Final Instance"

When you finish the last quest, then you get to fight Absolute Conquerer.

Anybody know where I can get some party members for my unions? I can't get past the battle at Blackdale. In the manual it says that you can see the recruiter in Athlum town square, but I talked to him and there is no option to recruit members. I have 2 of my own leaders right now, but there are no other party members, so each union is getting taken out in one turn by the Blackdale boss.

The achievements in this game are brutal. I am 20 hours in and only on page 3 out of 12 pages of sidequests. I am not tired of it yet though, so I will keep plugging away.

There's no need to rush the game... you can get all 1000 in one playthrough. Take your time and enjoy the game.

So I watched a Youtube video of the end credits. It looks like the development team for this game can't really be properly characterized as "the SaGa team" as I and others did. The director and lead artists worked on RS PS2, but most of the rest of the team seems to be different. In particular, none of the usual suspects from the core SaGa design team that's been mostly the same since RS2 were involved with this, excepting Kawazu in a hands-off management role. I wonder what they have been working on.
