It's just amazing how some interpret the "GENIUS" replies. I was one of those who laughed his ass off thinking that it was real, why I found it so funny and plausible is that it can be expected from a place like Japan.

I surely wasn't trying to hang on to something, I could care less about what the announcement turns out to be.

If it's not a spin off for the 360, it will be underwhelmaton.

I don't think it would make sense for MGS4 to go to 360. Start a new gig there within the MGS world instead.

Well, Raiden's story from MGS2 to MGS4 is a great source for a spin off. So they could explore that, showing the journey from Raiden post Mgs2 to Raiden MGS4.

I personally would love to see a new main character, as we see in MGS4, FOX hound has been restarted, so why not have a new character? Would love to see a "bad guy" playing for the good team in Fox Hound, set during the MGS2/MGS4 events. Heck Snake could even appear.

A bad mothafucka, none of that "green" shit, or "metal gearrrr?" shit anymore, a cold ass son of a gun. And then give him his own series. Like Jedi Outcast.

I personally don't care about Ocelot's backstory, he works as a villain, but he's no main lead. And the time period isn't that fun anyway.

Regarding Major Zero, i guess he could work, in the sense that one of the objectives of the new main character would be to find Major Zero, imagine if he even worked with Eva to rescue raiden and search for the body parts to "revive" big boss, imagine if he was the one who found major Zero.

There's a lot of room, but it all depends on having a main character that can carry a new series, a character that is different from Snake. Again i would love to see the whole "villain" playing on the good side.

'next' would seem to suggest a new game rather than any version of mgs4, but the first thing you get from 'a next metal gear is' is that whoever wrote it doesn't speak english (unfortunately the various people who've translated the metal gear games don't quite speak english either -- i have it on the authority of A CERTAIN TIM ROGERS that mgs has memorable and properly colloquial dialogue in japanese)

for the most part, yes. i want news to come out, not teasers, and anyone that uses a large franchise to tease the loyal fan base and bring up thier hopes can stick a hard, wooden, table leg in their butthole. rather than wasting time speculating, i will be playing video games.
