The Purple Star challenge in Toy Time Galaxy is kicking my ass. How the hell do I beat it? :punch

Oh, also the game is fricken gorgeous every time I boot it up. 360 graphics total (maybe even slightly better? :O )

I feel the same way. It's a beautiful title and almost looks like a HD game.

I was poking fun at what Amir0x said, actually.

But Galaxy is a great looking game, nonetheless.

I can't think of any game with underwater levels that I liked.

Bioshock was kinda good.

So I just beat the trial galaxies, which has some of the most sadistic game design ever. Just curious, but I can't be the only one that thought the ball rolling shit was WAY too sensitive, right? I barely tilt the fucking controller an inch and Mario goes to mach 5. It's difficult as hell to keep him steady too.

Also, did I mention this looks like a 360 game?

Yeah the ball game is the most Wiitarded part of the game, but even then it's better than the entirety of a monkey ball game.

I didn't have too much stress from any star in the game, I didn't mind the minigames at all.

I think galaxy proves nintendo still knows how to produce unquestioned brilliance on a dvd when they want to. However they know the big money is elsewhere.  You can blame the wii ___ line on all of the lame fucks who didnt buy pikmin.

Whether Galaxy is "better looking" than HD games or not has nothing to do with polygon countz or whatever.

I think this looks better than the vast majority of HD games released today:

The problem with SMG's soundtrack is that, while good, it's not memorable at all.

Although that's a problem shared with almost every game soundtrack nowadays.

Most of it seemed like remixes of past Mario games.

By the way, I really wish they would make a Mario game that is completely full of levels like Cookie Cutter Galaxy and that really hard Purple Coin level

Whooo! So I FINALLY beat the game with all 120 stars. It's so uncanny how awesome this game is designed, I mean there's a shitload of stars to collect, but I found that aside from a few, the rest don't take that long to collect. It's so elegant. I really like the way Luigi controls, and imo, it SHOULD have been the way Mario controlled. Awesome game overall. 9.5/10

Not memorable? I'm gonna have to disagree. Good Egg, Buoy Base, Battlerock, Gusty Garden, Bowser's Galaxy reactor, Bowser Jr.'s Robot reactor, Chase the bunnies, and some others. That's more tracks than I can remember for something like say, Sunshine or Zelda: TP.

Quote
there's like 50+ tracks in the game.

here's the amount of remixes: 2.

yeah.

Actually, might be a slight bit more than that.

Toy Time Galaxy (remix of Super Mario Bros. overworld theme)
Sweet Sweet Galaxy (remix of SMB3 overworld level)
Bowser's Star/Lava/Dark Matter reactor (remix of Bowser levels from SM64)
Evil Mario music (remix of SMB theme)
Dusty Dune galaxy (remix of dry dry desert from SM64)

But yeah, the original stuff greatly exceeds the remixes.

I don't really understand this. It's plenty memorable. What makes something memorable if not SMG's music?

The music was probably the most entertaining thing about Brawl.

I should probably buy SMG at some point, I guess.

the best part about that statement is that the crew behind Galaxy went on record stating that they had to sneak things by Miyamoto so he wouldn't harm the game

I don't have the link to it.  There was a thread about it way back closer to when Galaxy was release on gaf.

the team behind Galaxy is pretty awesome.  DK Jungle Beat was also fantastic, but sadly they're released a tard version for the Wii that ruins the entire point of the game.

I dunno.... I just couldn't hum any SMG music like I could hum Starlight Zone from Sonic 1*

(No, that has nothing to do with playing it over and over again as a kid or something because I didn't)

Erm...you're probably referring to this, which if that's the case, I think most would agree Miyamoto wasn't "harmful" ENOUGH.

Also, I wasn't sure at first, but now it's indeed true that SMG looks better than Crysis: Warhead.
