King Khan also has another project called the Shrines which does retro R&B rock and is INSANE live.  It's like seeing an indie-label desi James Brown.

If I could only recommend seeing one act live that would be it.

i missed out on both of those.  they were at the wired store as well and he was wearing the get up i saw him in at the CMJ show, that is gold vest, speedos, big afro wig and gold lame boots.  i don't know if the patrons were appreciative.

he's great live.  i watched him step on someone's head an play a few bars until the woman got upset and shook him off
