This movie got a lot of hate and I cant figure out why. Cool fight scenes, fast moving plot, vampires, immortals, gun totin americans. Its all there.

Obviously its not gonna jive with REAL history but wtf cares, its based on a comic book. And YES the comic book was probably better, but wtf people enjoy some goddamned movies.

It wasn't terrible. Had good action, and lots of potential. I just hate it didn't use all that potential.

Just like Hellboy. God that movie came on so sweet, and then went down hill.

I've never seen it, but the overall reaction to it hasn't made me rush out to pick up a copy or anything  :-X

Bad acting, boring overused plot, terrible one liners, poor character development, over rated comic movie hype...and no Sean Connery

Phoenix: Youre just spouting off all cliched movie complaints youve memorized of rotton tomatos. Your comments on Matrix Reloaded were just as generic.

They were the truth on Reloaded. The movie sucked, period. I don't need to watch overblown 30 minute fight sequences to be entertained by a movie. Disappointment total.

And once again, that car scene fucking sucked. As did the opening dream sequence with Trinity magically blowing up a small building with a motorcycle and then jumping out a window and propelling herself with her gun. WTF?

Its a movie about robots taking over the world and enslaving people in a computer program. Realism? dont be daft.

Thanks for the insight, professor.

You don't seem to get my point. I'm not really upset about the lack of realism. It is a movie about robots enslaving people, as you said. My problem is with the over the top nature of the film. Everything has to be epic, everything has to be extreme. Instead of a fight scene, let's give them a repetitive 10 minute fight scene with 100s of clones fighting Neo, who apparently could fly away at any time but chose to get his ass kicked just for shits and giggles.

The second movie sucks for the same reason fucking Mission Impossible sucks. Both the Matrix and the first MI were great movies that were well paced that had great action scenes. Hell MI only has THREE big action scenes, and fucking Tom Cruise doens't shoot a gun one time. Yet in the sequel everything is over the top, everything is done just for the sake of it.

There's a reason the Matrix Reloaded was not accepted by the public like the first one.

Another over-generalized complaint mixed with bizzare comparisons which up till now have sufficed when you were required to explain why you didnt like Matrix Reloaded to anyone else.

Metaphor-wise the second and third matrix movies were too baseless.

There was less symbolism and metaphors in the second and third ones, but I think they decided that bludgeoning the audience over the head with Alice in Wonderlands references might be a good thing.

So you're going to sit here and act like Reloaded was not a generic over the top sequel? Whatever dude. You're in the wrong minority here

I hardly remember any dialogue at all from Alice In Wonderland or Wizard of Oz.  Why would you think I'd like those.  And those movies were probably more about how children see things.  The Watchoski (spelled something around that) brothers just didn't care to put any good metaphors in there.

Well, the "follow the white rabbit" scenes are sure as hell referencing Alice in Wonderland, as well as the whole concept of the original being a modern day rethinking of the Alice in Wonderland story...

But I still didn't like Reloaded or Revolutions, for points which I've made clear in the other thread...

Phoenix Dark:  'over the top'

it cost a lot? lots of special effects? He did amazing things? Its the fucking matrix. Jesus christ.

How can a movie based on the material the matrix is be damned for such a thing. Keanu said 2 times the dialogue in Reloaded, and some of it was even complete sentences.

Im sorry but common opinion does not add legitimacy to your argument.

am nintendo: well one of them is a woman now so go figure.

Over the top doesn't just mean lots of special effects dammit. It's an idea. More does not always equal better, especially if it's a case of more style, less substance. And to me, that's exactly what Matrix Reloaded is. They took an awesome concept and flushed it down the drain.

And Keanu saying twice as much dialogue is not a fucking positive.

Pheonix Dark: Why WOULDNT the second movie be more explosive and fantastic? The stakes were higher, neo new his powers, the system was collapsing.

re: LoEG - Got it for Christmas a couple of years back... never opened it.  That's a pretty common reply from me, but it's sadly true.  Gotta watch it soon.  It seems very much like a "summer movie."

re: Matrix Reloaded - LOVED IT.  When I saw it in the theater, I was convinced it was better than The Matrix.  It also further advanced my theory of the Matrix trilogy being like the original Star Wars trilogy, which would later be confirmed by the Return Of The Jedi-esque Matrix Revolutions.
