I'm gonna see if I can convince a friend to pick up the DONNER CUT for me for X-Mas. I don't know if I want to spend any money of my own on it.

All I'm buying is the Superman: The Movie SE... imo, the only Superman worth owning. Plus, they always show Supes II on TV anyway, so its not going to be missed.

Its not like Superman looked tough either. Everytime I watch Superman movies everything just looks so amature. Floaty boring pulled punch fights with poorly acted grimaces of pain. Then lex is dumb looking and if shit doesnt look all washed out 70s it looks all embarassing early 80s. I cant watch this stuff.

I mean we finally got a chance at a modern superman movie that could benefit from all the special effects of today, and we get 2 hours, with a good portion of that being him getting EMO over a woman. I really think they should've made the pimp from the original movie, the one who does color commentary, jive-style on Supes' outfit a recurring character or major villain.  Maybe he should've just been Superman actually.

It's probably because the movies focus more on the whole 'mortality' bullshit when they could easily pull off some Metallo action, or something equally cheesy but big with explosions and badassed.  The closest we've ever, ever come to that was



Who definitely rocks, but like you said, isn't exactly menacing.  Hell, the final battle dealy at the end with the celophane S killed the mood.

Superman just isnt that Super. Watching the movies is becoming more and more like watching a movie about a guy who can READ REAL FAST or something incredibly mundane like that. I would have to say that SMALLVILLE of all things has bigger fights than the movies, which honestly a little said since its a teen drama show more than anything else.

PS- I've never seen Smallville.  From one BSG fan to another, is it worth the time at all?  I always held it as Dawson's Creek, but in Kansas.  With weird nerd stuff thrown in and 20-somethings that try to play teenaged characters.

Its not NEARLY as bad as Dawsons Creek. If you can stand the change to the mythos its good clean fun. The latest two seasons were awesome the first three were good but season 4-6 have way more super power and way less WAA WAA plus the retconned Lois is kick ass.

Smallville is worth it.  Season 3 is fucking awful though.  I think that's the one about the witch.  Fucking laaaaame.  "let's go to China!"  Lex is bad ass throughout the whole show though.  Lana is fucking gorgeous.  Lois is fucking sexy!!!

The reason I think Season 3 is worth it is because thats the season Clark says STFU to BOTH girls and I get to start hating lana for being the dumb character she is. God she's so dumb at the end of season 5 I wanna vomit. Lois is awesome and hot ftw.
