Was there a sappy liberal hippie message about coming together to save our the planet?
No.
It was basically humans acting like scared pricks, the U.S acting in a ridiculously funny "we own the world" way, and the "there's still a chance" message, and how "we" only ever really change when we are between the sword and the wall, or some shit like that.
I don't know, i think FOX should've allowed to movie to be a bit more ambitious, the later half of the movie felt a bit...."weak", "slim", "empty", if you will.
There was more potential.
