So I finally switched to gmail, after years of having an email with my ISP. Wanted to change forever to gmail, but didn't want to bother with notifying everyone and/or having a third mail address to check and what with all my emails?
Apparantly it's easy as fuck. I just added my two other mails to my gmail which get automatically checked and loaded into gmail. So don't have to bother anyone or check multiple places. Also found a way to easily import all my e-mails to gmail. You can just set up a GMAIL IMAP account in outlook or thunderbird and then copy the mails to the corresponding folders, which then get uploaded to gmail.
So this is what I did. Collected my still (4) existing mail outlook and outlook express archives from a few backups I made, merged them in thunderbird. Added an extension to search and delete duplicates, uploaded around 4000-5000 mails to gmail. Now I don't have to bother with backing up my outlook folders when I do a format and I always have access to my entire mail archive on any pc. Everything is neatly sorted on date and into conversations.
Added better gmail 2 to firefox too, which makes it better!
