I might die, but to hell with it. I'm playing Rugby again.

Tried out and made it. Was a little concerned about my size, because I spent all 5 years of HS playing a forward (Blindside Flanker), but I was a bigger than most people in HS, because I hit a growth spurt early. So I was a litle concerned they'd put me as a Back, but I got Blindside Flanker again. Might be going to a tournament in Trinidad come March, depending on work.

I miss playing so so much.

Is rugby tougher than American football?

I think it's fair to say it is.  There's no padding or anything.

I'm more an AFL (Aussie rules football) person.  Or cross-country ballet as detractors like to call it (among with things).

In Ireland of course, we laugh at all Rugby and Soccer playing pooves, because we play Gaelic football, which is rather bizarre to fans of the above because of the mixture of kicking and handling of the ball.

One of my cousins is a pro player (which doesn't mean much somewhere the size of ireland, admittedly) and spent a few seasons in Oz playing Ozzie rules. One of the largest human beings I know. He also plays Irish traditional music on the flute at a national level. I've got a cousin called Kevin...

I think if I lived in Ireland it would be my football of choice. ;)

Irish people + big sticks + regional rivalry

you can see where this is heading!

At least they stopped before they broke out the bombs and one side started hunger striking.

I used to play football and the only training I still remember to this day was a game of rugby we played in the pouring rain and mud. I was the biggest and tallest on the team and the only one who was able to stop me was the coach (he was 15 years old than me). So much fun. Rugby isn't popular here though.
