Why isn't Konami following Squeenix's failproof plan of REMAKES & PORTS=$$$$?

Isn't Suikoden 2 wanted by like, everyone?

Well sucks even more for Konami since they couldn't make the fairly safe formula work on a simple platform like the DS.
