Here in Seattle we're in the middle of "Winter Storm Watch 2008." All the news outlets are in a panic saying that this massie snow storm is on the way. Wake up this morning to find only the snow from Saturday night on the ground, nothing new. Turn on the TV and EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL DISTRICT EXCEPT MINE HAS DECIDED TO CANCEL SCHOOL FOR THE DAY. I live in Seattle, Seattle SD decided to call it quits for the day due to the fear that the weather might get bad later on. The roads are fine, it's 37 and raining!

The radio is like "the snow is coming at some point! it's going to be horrible!!"

Pussies. I drove to work this morning, and I'm at work right now.

well, honestly, i'd rather them shit their pants in terror and it turn out to be harmless then have a repeat of last year's lulzriffic laissez-faire weather reporting

Last time around, my district was one of the few that stayed open. I drove down I-5 and had zero problems in my crappy 2WD 1992 Ford Escort. I'd love a snow day, but it needs to be justified.

You should see how everyone panics in the south.  Last week, school openings were delayed until midday because they thought there might be snow.

Naturally, we didn't get a single snowflake.

I hear we're supposed to get something late tonight and early tomorrow morning here in NY.  IDK, we'll see.
