I bought an XBL subscription today.  Just a month to check out some trial games but I'll get another plan here soon.  Might end up buying Banjo Kazooie and Lumines Live

Got these as a nice little set for the misses. I gotta find a art deco style frame thats been aged now.

Also donated $250 to various charities for christmas. I know things will be hard for me, but others have it just as hard. And even more so the animals are suffering. So I donated a lot towards animal care facilities and some homeless shelters.

That's good.  I thought about volunteering for Christmas if I was unable to back down to family.

volunteering doesn't just have to be done during the holidays. You can do it all year round. Even if its just a few hours a month the impact of just giving your time can mean the world to some.

Musical Commentary and Japanese subtitles!

Tezuka's most enjoyable work and best character. Black Jack performs surgery the way Jack Bauer stops terrorists. House is a snivelling limpet next to Black Jack.

Just an FYI, anyone who buys Dawn of War Soulstorm is eligible for the real-soon-now Dawn of War 2 beta. So that's definitely a good pick, not that Dawn of War is ever a bad purchase. Have fun with the DE and SoB armies, DE has some FUN units like jetbikes and scourges, and SoB Seraphim squads, inferno pistol commander upgrades, etc. make for fun times too.

And King's Bounty is just :bow :bow. Best turn based game this year.

I'll definitely have to check out the Dawn of War 2 beta, although not before I rack up a few hours in Soulstorm. As a bonus, my brother has DoW and all the expansions [minus Soulstorm], so I can get down with the entire experience.

Haven't bought much lately, but today I went all out.  I did my Xmas shopping for niece and nephews.  also managed to score some stuff for myself.

Gifts:
--2x Super Mario Galaxy (for the niece and nephews)
--Some pokemon figure + a pack of cards for my nephew

here's where the fun starts.  Went to Half Price Books and found all of this:
--Halo 3 - $14.99 - complete
--Einhander PS1 - $6 - complete
--Hellsing vol. 8 (I stopped at 7 years ago, but this was too good to pass up) - $7
--Fallout 1 Brady strat guide + Fallout 1 Vault Dweller Survival Guide + Fallout 2 Vault-tec lab journal - $8 for all 3

The kicker:
--Monster Portable 2nd G - PSP complete - $9.  So random I had to pick it up.

Then I went to Borders and got:
--Queen and Country Definitive Edition vol. 1

-Watched the first 15 mins or so and the video quality looks solid.  Nice upgrade over the old dvd I have.

-Not worth the $6.  9 freaking holes.  Not even a full course.  Plus the camera is shite.

Might get some PSN stuff if the update is good.

Congrats dude, seriously you dodged a bullet.

She called me while I was at Whole Foods, asking if I'd go upstairs and snag one at the drug store before I came home... didn't want to, but I did. I want kids, but in a couple years.

If she had just gotten pregnant over the last week, I don't think a pee-type test would be effective, right?  Not enough time would have passed for the indicators to show up in her pee yet.

That's what I've been telling her. She's just stressed out from work, but whatever calms her nerves. As soon as she got a negative reading, the nausea went away completely.

(Image removed from quote.)

Any good I heard it was edited for language. I've been on the fence cause they are all live tracks.

Also the lack of this song for Karaoke disappoints me.

Nothing so far but I've got to go to palo alto for some books so we'll see what I come back with later today.

Today's no Thursday!

Anyways I just ordered this finally. I've been going back and forth between the 750 model and the 950 one. In the end I decided to go with this one and use what money I have left to upgrade my PC. Now to decide what game to get today to pop my LCD cherry with. I'm thinkin Fallout 3.

Boo yah.  Got a jasper, too.  I'm super tempted to set it all up and start playing but I won't for 2 reasons:

1. Finishing up Persona 4 before I move into the current gen.
2. Won't have my shiny new hdtv until next Wednesday and don't want to rape my eyes.

The better Van Sant movie released in 08.

I <3 this movie.  Planet Terror blows.

I'm still pissed that Criterion fucked up and cheaped out on BD packaging, but Chungking Express is essential.  Holding out on The Third Man because I have already purchased it twice and the BD release uses the old transfer, which upscales just fine.

And he has shot to the top of my favorite directors list.  Greenaway is heady, arty, and transgressive in all the right ways.  He frames shots beautifully and his work ranges from formalist to off the fucking wall, always internally consistent.

No, I torrented it.  I watched it last night and it might be the strangest thing I've seen by him yet.  Like The Draughtsman's Contract, it appears to have been filmed on 16mm (probably due to budget reasons, but possibly also do to stylistic reasons, which makes sense once you see how the movie is presented), so it's not like this would look great on DVD unless someone piled a ton of money into restoration.

It is very very strange and very very dense.  And also pretty damned indulgent, but he pulls it off.

It's got nudity, but it's not like, a lurid pervy book or anything.  Most big book stores should have a copy for you to page through.  On Ugliness is also worth checking out.

I fucking hate people that go through books. I was in a rush to get some books ordered from amazon> This morning I look and find out a book I wanted was out of stock. So I'm rushing to look for it nearby and ended up finding it in Palo Alto. So I put the books on reserve online and waited till after work to hit up the store. What the fuck do I find when I get there? Fucking shitty looking books that had torn pages and bent spines!

just need to get that out there that I hate people that read full books in a book store. I swear its as if they haven't heard of a fucking library.

So I just finally found the books I needed to pick up at some bookstore online i've never heard of. God knows if it was worth the extra money for the shipping. Fucking Xmas!
