Damn this is hard. I have a lot of respect now for people who make good models. My hands feel like they have been shredded to pieces. I must have dropped pieces two dozen times since they are so small and trying to put on stickers on a 1/144th scale gundam is near impossible with your fingers.

...and I still need to paint them >_< At least they gave stickers for the Turn A so unpainted it looks alright. But Turn X HAS NO EYES right now

Was fun. Took about 2-3 hours each, but I'm starting to get the hang of this and it's cool having mechs on my monitor. Yay!

I really want the Master Grade Turn A Gundam.

I still need to finish the 2nd wing on my Perfect Grade Zeta Gundam... there is this little spring mechanism inside of it that is a bugger to put in there just right...

Next up is the gold plated Master Grade Hyaku Shiki.

I'm planning on getting back into building models. The models from Gundam Unicorn look really great even though I haven't actually read any of it.

Bebpo, here are some suggestions:

1. Use a razor blade to get rid of those plastic nubs on the sides of some of the pieces. I'd also suggest picking up a small cutting blocks to work on.
2. Use some sand paper to get the rest of the plastic nubs gone.
3. I have some fine-tipped Sakura pens that I use to do my paneling, it really goes a long way to make the models look even better.
4. Once you're comfortable with the 1/144 models, get yourself a Master Grade (1/100) kit. They don't require painting, and look incredible.

Yeah, I have a Master Grade Freedom that I've never built from like 2005. Will build that next

I'm actually looking forward to the bigger model because bigger pieces will be a godsend.

So it's better to use a fine tipped pen than paint?

I wish there was a Master Grade 7-blade Exia. It's about the only mech in OO I really like.

Black fine tipped pens are not meant to be a replacement for paint. They only do panel lines. The nice thing about Master and Perfect Grade models is that they do not need to be painted to look good. High Grade and lower models need painting to look good, which is why they're so cheap to buy. My Perfect Grade Zeta has not been painted, but I've done paneling on it so it looks good enough for me.

I've also done Master Grade RX-79G and A-1 Zeta Plus models, along with a 1/100 Freedom Gundam model. They're still in a box in our basement from when we moved into our house.

Do you see the black lines around certain parts of the Zeta, like the face? That's paneling.

Typically how I do paneling is take the black pen, and scribble around seperations in pieces. Then, with rubber gloves on my hands, I rub all the excess away, leaving only a nice clean black line.

At first I thought this was going to be 3d modelling, and I was initially disappointed you hadn't built a phallus, but once that feeling subsided - I was impressed
