My only two complaints with Gears 2 SP are that the pacing is a little weird and there needs to be more short-range battles with Locust infantry. I don't like the pacing so much on replays. I feel the acts are a little too long.

they should actually start having a replay mode for games that remove the boring sections.  In the case of Gears 2, it would remove the turret, worm, and vehicle sections.

I liked the worm. What I mean is like...okay, so you're starting act 2 underground. And it's a really long time underground. You feel like you cover a LOT of distance. You finally get to the city place and it's like the halfway point of the act! I was stunned. Thought for sure it'd be act 3. enormous game.

Worm is the worst thing about Gears 2.

Also, the level design is too open in Gears 2 single player.  Gears is about up close intimate encounters.  Epic tried to be too BIGGER, BOLDER, BADDER with Gears 2 and failed.

I don't play B level shooters at full price.  I will get it for the online when its 30 bucks!  Despite what DCharlie says, when it comes to shooters I'm PC first, 360 second, PS3 distant third.

I liked the worm the first time, but like Act 3 in MGS4, it's one of those "experience" parts of a game that isn't fun playing twice in such a short period of time.

Gears 2 is great.  Resistance 2 is   Insomniac done fucked up and the critics love em for it.

I returned the sealed copy I got for Christmas using the receipt from the copy I bought. Removes some of the sting of it being a complete piece of shit with no saves. The only thing keeping me from trading it in for L4D is that my friend bought it to play with me and that GS will only give $24 for it.

Did BestBuy's trade in thing go national yet? Are they better than GS?
