Transferring XP to a new hdd
« on: December 27, 2008, 05:52:48 PM »
I'm about to go pick up a 1TB hdd for my PC.  I'm going to be transferring my XP install along with whatever else is on there (it's my C drive.)  I just need to clone the disk and XP will boot on the new one with no problems, right?  Also, can I clone a disk and put it on an HDD that is already in use, as long as there is space or does it need to be on a new HDD?

I just use the the migration tool.  Nothing fancy.  I just have a clone ready for backup purposes.

Did you check if the power cable was connected to your computer?
