I don't think they are doing another beta, unless it's one of those popular demos betas.

Paying for themes, though, that's bad enough. Using an exclusive theme to push pre-orders? Horse armor seems down right appealing in comparison.

Yeah, Gears 2 did this also.  Don't really care much since I don't really use other themes, I just download the free ones for some reason.  And they've also been doing this for Qore for while now.  It's all pretty stupid in the end since you can make a theme, with sound and all, in under 10 minutes.
