Have you played it in the last 5 years? Hell, 10? It's not really much fun any more.
MK only had the success it did because of the (lol) "realistic graphics" and blood/gore. That's it. If it lacked that, it wouldn't have gone past the original game.
And there is nothing funnier than the people who like MK for the "mythology." Yes, the story of 80 different rainbow-colored "Chinese ninjas" (lolol) is fascinating.
I pretty much hated Mortal Kombat until it went 3D, but even then they kept the awful digitized-style animation and spandex character designs. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. MK4 was a complete LOL-fest; don't mean that game, but Deadly Alliance and Deception. These games still had plenty of issues, but I found them decent at least. MK Armageddon was just pure shit.
Now MK Vs. DC on the other hand...this is getting back to something better. It's still far too stiff compared to other fighters, and I hear there's shitloads of problems with the online play, but in a sense it works because EVERYONE is kinda broken so it balances things out.
One game I never did get to was MK Shaolin Monks. Is this still worth playing?
