Good camera for the amateur photographer?
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:17:55 AM »
Alright, Evilbore. My N95 camera isn't cutting it anymore, and I think it's about time I bought a real camera. I love taking pictures, and I have always wanted to pursue it as a hobby. Lately, I have been eyeing the Sony Alpha series (dSLR 200, 300, 350 specifically). I got the chance to play around with them in Best Buy and I really liked them. They were small and definitely more compact than the other cameras in its class. The menus were pretty easy to understand and seemed pretty intuitive.

So far, I am thinking choosing between the 300 and 350, only differences being is that the 350 has a 14.2 MP sensor and digital zoom, while the 300 has 10 MP. 14.2 MP is pretty much overkill for me and wouldn't digital zoom be useless for these kinds of cameras? I am leaning towards the 300 to be honest.

Comments? Suggestions? :)
