took a few tries, basically approach the ramp straight on but you gotta ollie when youre about 1/3-1/2 up the ramp as opposed to the end of it. Quickly whack down RT and as you approach the end of the block between the ramps hit A to do your footplant. You have to be right at the end of the block otherwise you'll never make it to the ramp on the other side, once you spring out of the footplant holding ^ on LS helps I think.

Basically the challenge is a timing nightmare but didnt take me too long.

OMG, I just realized that you couldn't get off your board in the first Skate. I tried out the Skate 2 demo yesterday and was messing around with it thinking nothing of being able to get off the board and run around. I read a little description of all the new stuff in Skate 2 and saw that getting off your board is new. Wow. That really shows that I haven't played the first Skate in FORRRRREVER. I'm going to go pick up Skate 2 right now.

I'm playing through the career mode of this right now, it's just shocking how glitchy this game is in places. Would have needed more QA. I've had three lockups selecting stuff in the pause menu, and one just pressing start to bring the menu up. Also one win cutscene after a race where everyone was hovering three feet above the ground... MASSIVE frame drops in many locations... and the fucking GVR contest, augh. A game with framerate and AI problems, putting five distinguished mentally-challenged ai skaters going for the same obstacles as you do? Also, what's up with dumbing down the map? In Skate1, you could zoom in on the different map parts, and there was no problem knowing how the different areas were interconnected. Now I have no idea what area is where. And who thought it would be a good idea to include platforming elements?

Still. I keep playing it so I can freeskate later.

never played Skate 1 but yeah you get exp and rank up for playing online matches, more if you win.

Played the shit out of this game yesterday, pretty much done with career mode, just need to do the hall of meat challenges, Pro throwdowns and get the stupid security guard achievement. Ive got about 800 gamerscore so far

Im decent enough now for online freeskate activities, although the simultaneous trick ones are impossible when theres 6 of you. Anyone up for some online freeskating? GT: Sceneman, add me if youre keen

Hyoushi: I have the game installed and its runs pretty smoothly, didnt notice any frame drops. Installing doesnt fix the cruddy AI though.

The shit AI was pretty good for Can You Spell GIRL pro challenge, theres a glitch where you can drag a bike rack in front of the picnic table, and then Koston and Carrol just flip out and jump off their boards and run around etc. as opposed to doing tricks

Yeah I read how you have to earn legend... sounds complete shit compared to Skate 1. In Skate 1, all you had to do was do the same amount of racing until you reach Icon, then the same for tricking (while earning EXP for winning or losing - I think you have to be top 3, or top 5). This one you have to earn medals, requiring you to do shit you are either not good at, or just hate. Fail

I would buy Skate if they gave you an option to play with a 3rd person camera like in the replay. The graphics look so nice in 3rd person when you can see the whole environment.
