I was playing World of Warcraft last night (this isnt a gaming thread) and I was being chased by this high level monster, and I commented on the general channel:

"This monster is obnoxious."

The first reply I got was:

"Wow, big word."

Now I am going to step back and ask the question, how is Obnoxious a big word? Since when did it join the medical dictionary and the BIG BOOK OF RUSSIAN LAST NAMES in the category of BIG WORDS.

God damn people are getting dumb, and fast.

Its probably due to the fact that (in my experience) people in MMOs rarely use words that have more than 4 letters in a string of 3 words. So using Obnoxious was like blasting a ray of light in their eyes.

I blame parents and just the world in general. The us is becoming stupider by the damn day. Our kids are our future we need to make sure they dont turn out like Shake and countless others that i've encountered here on the internet and in real life.

Its just like writting in cursive. ive heard they dont even teach it in most schools anymore. Our word count has in society used to be 40,000 20 years ago and now its down to 10,000 where did the other 30,000 words go? I think alot disappeared with the word "FUCK" because you can use it with everthing and its even a widely excepted word now I hear it all the time from customers they don't give a fuck any more if they use the word "fuck" even old people. Instead of saying "my printer is malfunctioning" they say "my printer is fucked".

Actually most mp3's are distributed as VBR now. 192kbps at the worst.

It's all the iTunes yuppies with their lame-ass, mega compressed and SUPER dithered 128kbps AAC files these days.

It's all Apple's fault. If I'm paying for a song out of your store, I either want it as something comparable to LAME VBR for half price, or lossless for 99 cents. Otherwise, no sale.
