Spybot slows IE and FF
« on: January 13, 2009, 05:46:27 AM »
Anyone notice this? after reformatting Win7 for couple of times i noticed that after installing Spybot 1.6, IE8 starts and open tabs very slowly, FF3 isn't affected as much but it's not as as fast as it is now without it.

I'm sticking with AVG8 free edition + Malwarebytes + spywareblaster for now.

After seeing some of the things I've seen with regard to spyware; I don't even bother with protection of any sort. Most of the nasty shit will just give your antivirus a reacharound anyway.

I don't like software that continually checks every move I make. I'd rather just do a thorough check/clean every 3-4 days instead.

I use SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes.

Currently i use both, it depends on my mood also FF is usually for porn since i rather crash FF then IE, shit can get nasty with IE (not to mention IE8 is in beta state).

@zero, no but i did use the SDHelper for IE.

Firefox+Adblock Plus+NoScript+Norton 360.

Most I've ever had is two tracking cookies that come from some game launcher like one of the SOE launchpads that load IE pages.
