Sorry for the morbid topic.
Yesterday my aunt, whom I was close to, died aged 42. I'm finding it a lot harder to deal with than I thought. My grandma died recently too and whilst it was upsetting, she was 87 and it was expected, she was in and out of hospital for a while and it was just old age. My aunt's death has just come as a horrible sudden shock and as the funeral is in Morocco (she lived there) I can't even pay my respects. She wasn't ill long term or anything, just a week ago she went into hospital for some tests and said she was ill and then was discharged from hospital. The next thing I know, the neighbour is calling my mum from Morocco to tell her she just found her dead in her bed. If there was something deadly wrong, how could the hospital and doctors not have noticed and let her go home? Moroccan public hospitals are terrible.
Has anyone else lost close family members and if so, how did you deal with it? How long did it take for you to stop being so upset about it?
