Maybe if you work really hard at becoming antisocial, you could go schizoid.  I'd be oh so very proud of you.

Just checked the DSM-IV, and I have none of the symptoms of Antisocial personality disorder.

Looks like you won't be proud of me after all.

I'm sorry, bad wording.  I hope your avoidant tendencies become so extreme that it turns into schizoid personality disorder.  I said antisocial instead of avoidant, since many behaviors associated with being avoidant can be seen as denotatively antisocial in a non-psychological sense.

Malek am have avoidant personality disorder confirmed.  The only known treatment is suicide.  And CBT.  I say go with suicide because CBT makes my hand hurt.

Also, Malek, I have black hair.  But my semen is pearly white.  Not that you'd notice what with where it would be going.

Mmm, CBT.

How do you get a shrink?  Do you have to live in Canada?

University psychologist. I was complaining about my tuition yesterday, and she told me that the tuition wouldn't cover what it costs to see her in private practice.

From my outward behavior, I'm sure that my classmates, if they care at all, think that I'm anti-social.

Life is hard. In Dutch, we have the expression: "Like is as hard as a child's nipples."

I agree.

Well, I'm sorry for the confusion.  I would never claim you had antisocial personality disorder.  You are far too much of a walking soppy vagina for that.

Clinically, antisocial people are folks that don't give a fuck about society or other people and have no problem using people to meet their own ends.  Sociopathy/psychopathy are antisocial.  Asocial (assuming it's the same as avoidant) would be people that avoid social situations for reasons such as fear of embarassment or anxiety and the like.  The confusion is that in a non-clinical setting, people that are asocial/avoidant would be labelled antisocial by Joe Sixpacks and shit.

Well, it's not really fair to blame people that haven't taken a psychology course, though.  Also, if one of my friends called me "antisocial" because I don't go out all that often, it would be rather pedantic of me to say "I'M NOT ANTISOCIAL I'M AVOIDANT!"

I don't blame them, nor do I correct them (anymore, my wife got me to stop doing that years ago), but it still bugs me.

My DSM-IV TR is in my office at work, but yes, that's part of APD. You're unaffected by things, almost to the point of being cold and emotionless.

Flannel? She is probably lesbian, or lesbian-until-graduation. You're screwed... or rather, you'll NOT be screwed and that is the problem.

Seriously though, there is no unrequited love as tragic as that of a man fascinated by his local coffeehouse's cute barista. You need to up your game if you want sympathy, Beyonce.
