Not liking the new album very much, but I'm sorta sick of The Decemberists. I'll have to give it another listen in a month or two.

That video is complete shit, and My Girls is probably my favorite song on that album. I really hope that's fan-made.

I avoided the leak, but I picked this up on Tuesday and have listened once or twice each day since then, and at this point I like it. It's no Tain, but it's interesting. I wonder if this pisses off a lot of old school fans since this album makes it appear that Meloy really wants to break away from his pirate songs and be in Pink Floyd or Zeppelin.

I honestly think this might have a little something to do with it.  Looking like, song by song, there's no reason I shouldn't really like Picaresque or The Crane Wife as much as the first two albums.  I think I just got burned out.  Sometimes it seems like you burn out on the more unique and quirky things more quickly than you do "normal" things.

I've been a fan since before they signed with Kill Rock Stars, and I'm still enjoying this album. Hell, I liked Picaresque and The Crane Wife, which appear to be detested by lots of people.

My Girls is honestly now one of my least favorite tracks on that album.  I like some of the earlier tracks other than it, and the last three tracks the most.

Been listening to the album for the better portion of the weekend while on public transit and I really like it - a lot.

I picked up Cutouts and Castaways, The Crane's Wife and Picaresque this weekend, as well.  Of those three, I only like Picaresque as much as The Hazards of Love.  But good tracks on all.
