ebay is awesome. my current new year's resolution is to finally get around to liquidating all this old console gaming crap and old DVDs on ebay to pay for my ravenous PC gaming hobby this year. So far, so good, and with a decent postal scale in my office it's really hassle free.

I found $20 while walking with my prof to latin class. He made a joke about me buying coffee and I just smiled, then there was an awkward pause. Now I don't know if he really wanted a coffee or not or if he thinks I'm an ass for saving found money. Being socially awkward sucks . I wish I hadn't found it. :'(

What convinced me was the keyboard (it's 92% full size and is awesome) and the price was right. The design is amaaaazing. It is more like an 8.9" model than a 10". Downsides are really just the lack of a 6 cell option. I will have to pick up another battery. But omg I am in love with this already. It's gorgeous, it feels great, it's fast, and it's not an Apple product. +4

I got the hp mini 1000 netbook for my mom, and just messing around with it/setting it up, it's pretty damn cool. Keyboard is actually really comfortable to type on (tho I have no real reference with how it compares to other netbooks), but the mouse pad is a bit awkward with the side button thing.

Yeah, if I'm not using a mouse, I use two hands. One on the click and one on the trackpad. It's the tradeoff you get for having a 10" screen squeezed into a 8" model, but omg this thing is ultraportable.

Some keyboards (the Samsung) are nice, but those are "10" models" (bigger than the HP). Some of them are shit....shifted shift keys, smaller shift keys, no arrow keys, etc.

Even on my laptop (which is average size for a laptop) I'm not a fan of using a trackpad and usually carry around a mouse with it. It isn't really a big problem for my mom anyway since she's one of those people who does that whole 'tap to click' thing. And believe it or not, the old laptop she used had a smaller keyboard, screen, and trackpad (it was some old Vaio that was expensive back when she bought it)
