If you downloaded the "Death Magnetic" album for Xbox and PS3, those ten songs will play in their entirety in the full game mode. PS2 and Wii versions (coming in the Spring, most likely in early May) will include "Broken Beat & Scarred," "Cyanide" and "My Apocalypse" since they are not compatible with the Death Magnetic downloadable content.

On the other hand, it's Guitar Hero and a fair chunk of those songs are or will be in Rock Band. Then again, we don't know when they'll be in Rock Band.

* Activate star power at will on drums/mic
* Open notes on bass
* Slide sections and notes during sustains on guitar

Despite it being a fairly shitty, unpolished product, there is some good.

*It's a wash IMO. Harmonix got off their asses and made hardware that works this time around.
*Both decent aspects that are negated by equally distinguished mentally-challenged additions (getting points for wailing and talking like a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow during freestyle sections)

*Good in theory, sucks ass in gameplay since slider sections are seemingly random and you don't even notice until you are in the middle of one.

Harmonix licensed 18 Metallica songs for Rock Band (along with 18 Grateful Dead songs.) Only five have been released, so there's another 13 left. 14 if you're very hopeful for an Enter Sandman DLC release.
