Yakuza 2 is a lot better than the first game. 

I really can't see SEGA ponying up the dough to bring this stateside after the crashing bombas of the first two.  To say nothing of the fact that SCEA is highly fucking unlikely to let them release this one without English dubs, which only adds to the costs.

I'd love it if Sega would get Microsoft on board to release a 360 port in America, forcing SCEA to do the same.  Acquire was smart enough to realize that third party exclusives are pretty dumb at this point, so Sega should do the same.  Kenzan, RGG3, and Valkyria on 360.  How hard could it be?

I think it will come to America. I think Sega badly wants this brand to be popular worldwide. So they will take one last shot on it. The first PS2 release was pretty badly mishandled, and the second one was a bomb before it shipped.

The localization budget isn't too big of a problem. We know Tales of Vesperia made it over here with way more dialog and localization work necessary to sell 100k copies max.

There could also be licensing issues with all the products featured in the game.  In Yakuza 2, you could go to Don Quijote and get some C.C. Lemon.  I'd imagine things like that must also cost them.

The new seamless battle transitions are f*cking great, though, as that was one of the things that killed the first game for me.  I like the idea of chase battles as well (seems like QTE-like scenarios with actual gameplay).
