This is one of those rare times when the three streams of EB, video games, and work will cross for me. I'm doing some research on Gamefly and it's extremely hard to find any reliable information online. The company is growing extremely quickly (from 1 to 5 DCs in 3 years), but I can't find any reliable information regarding exactly how big the company is and how much revenue they are producing. I find it very hard to believe that it's only a $10 million/year company, but that's what a lot of sites are saying. To put that in perspective, Netflix is a $1.2 billion/yr company, which is why it's hard to believe that Gamefly is less than 1/100 the size. Netflix gets on average about $160/yr per customer (7.5 million customers). Gamefly is more expensive, so even using an extremely conservative number like $240/yr per customer, that's only 41.7k customers, which seems like a a ridiculously low number. There's got to be something out there that's more accurate.
The reason I'm asking is because I firmly believe that they need help. As a customer for a number of years, it's infuriating how long the turnaround times still are and how often games are out of stock. There's a lot of optimization that could be done on a purchasing, warehouse, and transportation level, and I know who can help them!
Feel free to PM me if you know anything and don't want to post it on the forum. If anyone gives me something extremely good, I'll be more than happy to give you something in return. Thanks!
