Kameo was pretty in a choice cut sort of way. The whole was a vile mesh of Rare brand shit-for-balance and a jackhammer approach to "next-gen" graphics.

It had real nice music, though. Way too nice ("epic") for the actual content of the game, so that ended up being a failure as well.

red steel is very truly bad. but it has one hilarious level. the graphics are so horrible.

There were are couple of areas that had some cool effects, but yeah, the graphics were really meh.

Kameo has strange visuals, like most Rare games this gen (except the viva games, which were really nice looking).  Rare's answer to next gen is to saturation and a lot of visual effects.

the graphics could have been passable if it had a stable frame rate

ok I'll be the first to say it.  I enjoy my wii.

I try.  I try really hard.  I find games that I should like and try to like them.  But I just end up not having fun with Wii games and hating everything about them.  :(

The last Wii game I finished was No More Heroes/Smash back a full year ago >_<

Dunno what you homos are talking about as far as Kameo not being a looker. Character designs are definitely questionable, but the environments and effects are fucking awesome. Don't think many games can compare to it, tech wise.

I wish I had the opportunity to try and like alot of games that haven't been localised for america. I don't care for disaster and captain rainbow, but I would like shiren3 and maybe fatal frame if they fix the controls. We are getting Klonoa though ^_^

I do enjoy my wii, but I do wonder how much better games would be if the motion tech worked reliably. It ruined No More Heroes' combat, and tenchu sounds like it includes its own shortcomings in that regard.

Golden Tee Golf. A cursory check of the "find a game" feature on the official website shows at least twenty Golden Tee machines within a 25-mile radius within me. Digital crack with a trackball, I tell ya...

I put some time into Rumble Roses on the 360 when it came out, I'm ashamed to admit.

oh please, that worn-out broken record again? "I heard there's a cool game in Japan, I hope they bring it over"

What are you playing on the Wii? Like right now!! (current games please, 3 months+ games can't be considered)

I think you quoted the wrong half? Why do you want to know what escapist fantasy I'm indulging in right now?

Anyhow, I really want to know what people who only own a Wii play right now.

I like the Wii, but if it's your only console and you enjoy getting even one or two games a month, you surely have to lower your standards considerably.

That reminds me, I put about 30 hours into DOAX Beach Volleyball and got utterly hooked on it. :-[

I even played volleyball for some of that time.

I'm actually pretty excited to see if the Wii Motion Plus will help with Wii controls.  I do like the concept of motion controls, but the current setup is horrible.  I just hope it's not another budget solution like everything else with the Wii.

I never tried DOAX2.  The core volleyball mechanic in the first game was brilliant and since DOAX2 was identical in that regard (as far as I know), I didn't bother.

The soundtrack in DOAX was pretty darn good.

And I loved collecting swimsuits.

I hate rpgs and mmorpgs, but Contact was something I loved while acknowledging its glaring faults. I only put it down because I figured out it would take weeks of grinding postgame to upgrade the job classes. I don't think it was playtested past that point.  Shame it bombed worldwide so I'll never play a sequel with the necessary improvements.

There's an AILive motion+ vid on youtube. Guy is showing off convincing sword combat in a simulator. I'm worried devs wont care to incorporate it because of lack of market penetration.

As far as I've heard, DOAX2 has the nastiest, most painful and OCD unlock requirements outside of a Korean MMO in order to encourage you to buy the DLC unlocks.  And on top of that, I hear it's a sloppy mess that none of the developers gave a shit about.  I have a copy of the game, but I don't think I'll ever play it.

I'm feeling good about skipping DOAX2 in that case.

I don't get where Nintendo is coming from with the Wii Motion Plus.  Casuals won't understand the difference and it is likely to be severely under-utilised in "hardcore" games just like existing Wii features are.

I'm being really pessimistic here but I won't be entirely surprised if it's a gigantic bomb.

They were anticipating Microsoft and Sony announcing their own wiimotes.  Motionplus+ was announced the day before Nintendo's conference when their competitors had the first day of E3.
Took em 2 years to admit accelerometers were wothless.

You wanna know what's smh? I spent $20 at an arcade once to play Target: Terror. Got to the last level, had to repeat it three times to save the pilot of the hijacked airliner before giving up. I didn't know you had to shoot the gun out of his hands!  :'(

MGS4 was easily my favorite game last year. .

Phoenix Wright is awesome.

FFXII has probably the best combat ever in an RPG and is one of the best FFs.

I'm generally a positive person and the only thing that I find myself being cynical about is the Wii.  As much as Sony's software sucks and hinders my enjoyment of the PS3, I can still easily enjoy the good games on the system.

There are a number of "B" level or "'Bore controversial" games that I've really enjoyed over the past few years:

Ratchet and Clank 5
Assassin's Creed
Just Cause
The Godfather
Metroid Prime 3
Boom Blox
Too Human
NCAA/Madden (does anyone here play sports games?)
Prince of Persia
Banjo Kazooie
Mass Effect
Oblivion
Layton
Picross

and so many more...
