Apparently they've elicited the help of Comcast and AT&T to penalize file sharers.
Quote
AT&T and Comcast, two of the nation's largest Internet service providers, are expected to be among a group of ISPs that will cooperate with the music industry in battling illegal file sharing, three sources close to the companies told CNET News.

Thanks god I'm not a Comcast subscriber. They sound like the worst company in the world.

well, as long as there are alternatives... anyone not liking the idea of an ISP that is collaborating with the record industry lobby can just switch to a less corporatively bumfucked option.

http://www.1800goguard.com/warriorchallenge/form.php?questions

You can get 50 free Mp3's from that link. Just answer yes and give them a valid email address (fill the personal info with junk). It's all from the Universal catalog and for the US only .. but you can find some decent music in there if you can put up with their clunky menu system. I downloaded some Nirvana, some soundtracks, some old Def Jam rap and some Audioslave.

Well it's a good thing PeerGuardian blocks IP's from AT&T and Comcast already!
