There's a bunch of things I'd be interested in, but Paul headlining?  Ugh.

FRIDAY APRIL 17: Paul McCartney, Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, Leonard Cohen, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Beirut, The Black Keys, Girl Talk, Silversun Pickups, The Ting Tings, The Crystal Method, Ghostland Observatory, Crystal Castles, The Airborne Toxic Event, We Are Scientists, N.A.S.A., Patton & Rahzel, M. SATURDAY, APRIL 18: The Killers, Amy Winehouse, Thievery Corporation, TV on the Radio, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, MSTRKRFT, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Atmosphere, Mastodon, TRAV$DJ-AM, Henry Rollins, Crookers, Turbonegro, Hercules and Love Affair, Superchunk, Glasvegas, Dr. Dog, Drive-By Truckers, Booker T & the DBT’s, Amanda Palmer, The Bloody Beetroots, Surkin, Para One (Live), Calexico, Liars, Bob Mould Band, Zane Lowe, Electric Touch, Blitzen Trapper, James Morrison, Drop the Lime, Glass Candy, Thenewno2, Gang Gang Dance, Billy Talent, Ida Maria, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Zizek, Cloud Cult, Tinariwen.

SUNDAY, APRIL 19: The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Throbbing Gristle, Lupe Fiasco, Paul Weller, Peter Bjorn and John, X, Antony & the Johnsons, Roni Size, Public Enemy, Jenny Lewis, Groove Armada, Paolo Nutini, Christopher Lawrence, Lykke Li, The Kills, Okkervil River, M.A.N.D.Y., Clipse, Sebastien Tellier, Fucked Up, Perry Farrell, The Horrors, Late of the Pier, K’naan, Junior Boys, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Supermayer, No Age, Vivian Girls, Shepard Fairey, Themselves, Gaslight Anthem, The Knux, Mexican Institute of Sound, The Night Marchers, Marshall Barnes.

Acts I'd like to see (that I know tend to not suck live) bolded.

EDIT:  Added Henry Rollins.  I don't like most of his music, but for whatever reason I've liked every live performance of his I've been to.

What have Throbbing Gristle shows been like lately?  The more I think about it, the more that is what I find most interesting here.

Also, funny from the comments:

"ah, and finally amy winehouse can approach robert smith and thank him for his makeup advice. "

my good friend saw them at premiveria. bradford cox was sitting right next to her and was bitching about having to leave because his band was scheduled to play in the next few minutes.

from what i remember, it was inside an auditorium which had the most amazing pa system ever. throbbing gristle fully utilized its surround sound setup and had some visual arts accompanied along with it. she claims it being one of the best shows she's ever been to, and she goes two or three at least every week.

You guys should just come out. We could have an EB meet-up in the desert. I'll be bringing a lot of herb.

if anyone can manage to rent a room, i'm there.

i camped three years in a row and i can't tolerate that shit anymore. going to sleep at 2am every night and waking up at 7am to blazing dry heat and the dessert sun ripping through your tent is not fun.

No love for Thievery Corporation?

I never understood the appeal of most of these festivals.  Seems like a lotta hassle to see a 20-30 min set by the bands you like.

And I bet Throbbing Gristle and My Bloody Valentine are playing at the same time so you could only see one of them.  I dunno.  I used to like festivals when I was younger, but there's little appeal right now.  It's probably more fun to look at the Coachella act list than to actually go to Coachella.

Supermayer, Gui Boratto and MANDY? Those are the main dance people? What, did Coachella's organizers finally discover 2006-era minimal or something?

Yeah, they're is usually five acts playing at all times, so the ones you see play for a really long time.

I went once and I had a blast.  It's really unlike any music festival out there and I've been to a bunch.  That said, the process is so grueling and two days wears you down.  I don't know if I could do it again.

40-50 minute sets is the standard for all festivals.
