Get it on 360, Eel. I have Soul Calibur IV, HD Remix, and Battle Fantasia on both systems, and I have found that online connections are typically better on 360, plus there's always a shitload more players. In Capcom's case, if HD Remix is anything to go by, you're gonna want the 360 version since the online won't be as fucked up. I'd also highly recommend springing for either the fight pad or a stick no matter which system you go with.

Look around the 1:00 mark (how one Ultra "canceled" the one before it, even though it was performed afterwards). Ryu's Ultra has invincible frames.

I noticed that, but the other guy is doing a fireball super on wake-up, which is just kind of dumb/desperate anyway.

Funniest thing about it is that it sounds like he performs the motion for the super AFTER that stupid animation and still manages to stuff it, so it's not even like it was a lucky guess, but I bet that's possible with just about anyone provided they have a few frames of invincibility at the start-up.

guile seems pretty awful from what i've played and seen -- flashkick priority is poor, range on his normals is gimped, his super and ultra are just about useless. he's my hd remix main and i would've liked to play him in sf4, but using a really weak character is like running uphill. i'm gonna whore out sagat or ryu like everybody else -- already preparing on hd remix

Last time I checked, the top tiers were Ryu, Sagat, and Zangief. The latter was also ranked the highest on the win lists (from a guild called "Red Cyclone-- awesome!) at one point.

I don't see the point in worrying about who is the best just yet though. Between the home version having a bunch more characters and possible tweaks/changes from the arcade version, no one has any fucking idea right now. Use who you like. No one expected Rufus to be any good, but there are players out there who can destroy everyone else with him. IIRC several tournaments have also been won by players using other characters. I think a Honda player even chumped everyone.

Guile is also my HD Remix main. And every previous SF where Guile has been. But im gonna start using Gief now. Hes pretty decent in Remix already.

I agree with that, but when you got the same people using the same characters like you see with MvC2 or SF3, it gets so boring.

I agree with that, but when you got the same people using the same characters like you see with MvC2 or SF3, it gets so boring.

I have played plenty of people in those games that use all the characters. Just because people play them in tourneys, which then inspires a small few to treat said players like gods and their play styles as the gospel doesn't mean you have to.

The point is to learn to deal with the standard bread n' butter stuff quick so you can own the "boring" players left and right, and/or force them to change up what they are doing.

It's probably the only game that I prefer playing with the nub since you're sliding it around in a differently the directions all the time instead of leaning.

Looks like Wikipedia was right; this screen shows ALL the extra characters (including Akuma who was time-released in the arcade version) missing from the select screen. So it's gonna be Tekken-style unlocking, huh? $:-\$

Those guys were good. From my experience, it was pretty easy to miss your opponent when going for a stronger focus attack (the longer you hold the buttons down, the stronger it gets) or simply predict they will do the wrong move and leave yourself wide open. You can do some cool stuff with this system...even cancel attacks INTO the focus attacks (which uses some of your super meter)! It's gonna be weird trying to readjust to this after playing so much of HD Remix.

Gamestop is shipping both sticks AND the pads already. Best Buy has also put out the pads for sale in some locations, but the one near me didn't have them.

The problem with Gamestop is that they are allocating the pads RANDOMLY, so if you want a certain character pad, you're outta luck. I'm gonna try another store or two tomorrow maybe, but I have a pad for each system pre-ordered at Amazon just in case. And hey, they might start shipping them earlier than the 20th anyway.

Gamestop has the Hori fight sticks at 39.99 (the ones with DOA/SC ect) but everybody says those suck. So i dont know what to do. Might just buy one of those pads till the seccond wave of TE sticks hit stores.
