Haha, I just played this Sagat user. He fell for EVERY SINGLE THROW I did to him. EVERY TIME.

So after the match, I get a message that says "Wow. Your cheap throws rock!" And I reply "Wow. You can't even counter throws. You don't rock!"

Went to a friends house today and played 5 hours straight. Dare I say goty?

My only problem right now is doing Ultras because the 360 pad is not good with fighters at all.

I'm surprised I've managed to play perfectly with the 360 d-pad. For some reason it's pretty comfortable for it, and it's the triggers/bumpers on the pad that throw me off.

My main is Cammy and honestly, she's one of the few characters I feel comfortable as hell playing with. I'm not big on Chun-Li now that I'm not relegated to arcade play.

Cammy, Sakura, Ryu/Ken, C. Viper, Abel are easily the characters I have the most fun with. Blanka's fun to use too. Despite being "nerfed" I can still get a lot of mileage out of Cammy. Also, her alternate costume is

Right now though, my biggest hurdle next to ultras are counter-throws. I'm having trouble pulling them off, especially against people like Abel, Gief, and El Fuerte.

Online play against random players is beginning to get a little boring now; I was hoping the crap would have cleared out, but they are still there. I either get awful players, shit-lag, disconnects, distinguished mentally-challenged fellows who kick me in player matches after one match (they lost), or a combination of the above. Even doing ranked and filtering to my level or above isn't working the way it used to. I think I might be a little burned out on the game; took some time off from the past weekend and went back a bit last night and tonight. I'm not stopping though, at least not until KOF XII and Blaz Blue are out in the summer.

I always have my finger on the "trigger," ready to throw at a moment's notice. Since I main Chun (now more so than) and Cammy, I can both throw and air throw like CRAZY. It's also a LOT EASIER to throw using the Mad Catz pad; stock 360 pads and this game just don't mix.

I probably just need to get adjusted to the auto-block. I'm so conditioned by Third Strike to not touch anything while in block stun that I don't even think that I can throw in a cautionary throw escape until I'm fully out of it. I think that would help with the really close calls that I'm having the most trouble with.

It's actually kinda funny - when I'm playing with friends less familiar with Street Fighter in general, I'll hear them mashing buttons and rolling the stick and going apeshit while they're in block stun and I'll think, "man, you're fucking crazy". I can't imagine I'll ever get completely used to that.

my biggest problem is still being able to pull off an ultra/super motion correctly with it registering as something completely different. Last night I played a bit online and only one match I felt like I legitimately lost and it was against a really good Guile player. All the rest had exact instances where I would have won if I could pull off the ultra at that moment. The worst is with my man Fei Long and doing his roll over the back thing, which a good setup to get into an ultra, but I can never seem to pull it off.

If you think they are going for a tick throw you can jump out of them as an alternative to teching the throw. Of course if they anticipate you doing that...

I jump out of obvious throw situations that I put myself in (or any throw situation involving a character with a command throw), but regular tic throws are a different bag and so quick that I think I'd rather miss the tech and eat the throw rather than risk bigger damage unsuccessfully jumping out (even worse, unsuccessfully jumping out and remaining grounded). The worst thing about getting thrown isn't the damage, so much - it's your opponent gaining crucial momentum, putting you in a position favorable to them and getting a leg up on you.

Here is a nice solution to try for those tired of the same boring scrubs and/or trash-talking distinguished mentally-challenged fellows over and over again-- play people with different language settings. I did some ranked matches against Japanese players, and not only did I fight characters like

Dhalsim

and

Cammy

, but even the "scrubs" played a little differently. And nowhere near as many "unable to connect" or "this match has already started" messages popped up.

On the U.S. side of things, I played against a Vega user (holy shit, rare!) and perhaps new XBox user (only had a 130 gamer score) tonight with Chun, and spanked his ass. I plugged in my mic after the match started so he wouldn't know it, and listened to him begin to say "taco...taco...taco!!" every time I hit him. I beat him the first round okay. The second round, I perfect him. He has no clue what to do against my offense after I've cornered him, and he went down whining like a bitch. So I turn the mic on, and for the first time since I got the game, did some trash talking of my own. Nothing special, just "haha, you SUCK. You're an awful player." He gets all emotional on me and is complaining I do the same thing over and over. "Why would I do anything else if you can't beat this?" I say. "THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!!!!11 U ARE SUPPOSED TO PLAY FOR FUN!!!!!11" he replies. I say "I am playing fun. You're the one who started talking shit, not me." And then he turned his mic off and took the rest of his beating in silence. Perhaps something was learned this day. Doubtful, but perhaps. To the guy's credit, he didn't disconnect like I figured he would.

I just quit my first match...before it even started! I join a game and the guy is just moving the cursor over every character the entire 30 seconds on the select screen. Since I wasn't hosting, I couldn't do the same thing back to him on stage select, so I just quit right when the timer hit zero. Damn griefers!

Also played a bit of HD Remix earlier today. It's just too damn hard going back and forth like this. I found myself (again) trying to throw with jab and short. :'(

Honda and Blanka are my biggest weaknesses. Well, expert Honda players anyway. An average Blanka player can still get me though. One of the reasons I ended up maining Chun instead of my original choice, Cammy, is because I couldn't fucking touch Honda and Blanka players with her.

I'd actually like to learn more of Rose. Especially after seeing the video where Saqs beats the shit out of a whiny Evo "champion" player using Boxer.

The wording on this is kind of strange, because if you think about it, sure, if you have a high disconnect rate and then don’t disconnect for a long period of time, of course the ratio will go down, but perhaps there is some sort of extra penalty associated with disconnecting.

I have a PS2 Hori HRAP 2 SA. With a USB adapter, it's compatible with PC and PS3 but not 360.
