So Mox and I played, and then I had to leave briefly (wife had to quit the job she just found, freak-out occurs days later at like midnight; why does this stuff always have to happen right when I sit down to play games?

) and came back for more fightin'. Quite intense; the final tally was 12-10 me (or 12-11 if you wanna count the match I had to leave in); I quit while I was ahead mayne.

Most of our matches were neck and neck and I love playing in bouts like this, so heated and you really gotta work to get that final victory. Mox got my Cammy with his Boxer every time, too. :'(

I swear you're the only Rufus player I get to play. Can't even remember the last time I came across a Rufus in ranked or player matches on either system. But then again 99% of every match is always Shoto and Sagat with the occasional Blanka, Gief, and Gouken for me.

Do we have enough people here on either platform to have an Evilbore tourney? I dunno if we got enough PS3 players. Also how about an ALL-DAN tournament, minimum 10 taunts required in every round?

Well, I finally got the game (360), so I'm all for doing a tourney. Understand though that nuanced playing is not my forte.

I've got no idea when I'm supposed to focus attack, I've never dashed afterward, and I have no idea how to cancel out of a combo into a super, or if that's even the right series of words to make any sense.

But, I do enjoy playing the game, so I'm all for the idea of a tournament.

Looks like the matchmaking finally works for me if i'm patient enough with custom match filters. I've been using arcade mode to find people and the filters don't work there at all. I've been stuck perpetually at 3500 bp or so because each win was giving me +1 and each loss was like -999999. Now that the filter is working in custom match i seem to be getting 4000+ people consistently and for the most part they play pretty well. And very few disconnectors, which suprises me.

I ran into this fuerte player i literally couldn't touch. It's like he was able to read my mind every single moment, and his execution was flawless. I need to find that guy again!

Fuck counterpickers. If we do a tourney, it's just like the GAF one-- you have sign up and say who you will use (either just one character or a choice of two) for the entire tourney.

Well, then we should probably do two characters, a main and an alt. Would be more fun that way anyhow; get beat down with one character, and you might still have a fighting chance with the other.

I think I can get a couple of people from elsewhere to enter the tourney too. At least for 360.

Here's my total playtime in SF4 on both 360 and PS3 so far.

Total of 134 hours, 46 minutes and 1,171 out 1,516 total matches won. Highest BP level so far is 3268. I think I have more Cammy usage on 360 and more Chun-Li usage on PS3.

seth has really low hp and doesn't hit very hard, but he can just zone some characters all fucking day, and his ultra and super catch jumps from full screen. i've seen a couple decent ones in player matches

I played a fantastic Honda with over 9,500 bp today. If he hadn't have been my very first match of the night, I think I could've taken the guy. Curiously made very little use of the command throw though, even when it suited him to do so - mostly just did a lot of butt drops and a cr.mp -> hundred hand slap combo/string that could eat a ton of bar with chip damage.

Anybody playing the PS3 issue having the same issue as I am?

Seems right after the 2.70 update SFIV's framerate dipped to like sub-20fps throughout, even on the menu screens. It's really weird but I'm not sure if it's because of the update.

Honda players: do I suck or is this pretty tough to do consistently? I am beginning to suspect that he may have been using turbo, but with a bp score that high, he might be just that good.

Are details given about the championship mode at least? It would be nice if you could at least do player tournies and invite people on your friends list.

At least on 360 you can just do a party and invite each back and forth, and now with the chat system on PSN you can do the same.

There's really nothing to explain in-depth. You just have to get used to charging (which can be done when crouching or jumping too) back/down constantly, and it will get more natural for you. Practice! If you're having trouble getting the moves to come out, maybe you're just not charging long enough? Count out loud "one one thousand, two one thousand" and then hit forward/up and the attack button.

So I just had a fun little PSN message session with a 6000+ BP Ryu player that I gave a sound thrashing to. He beat me the first round, but it was only because of some awful, awful lag. It disappeared in second, and he went down like any flowchart player would; my guess is he's one of those BP cheaters making his way through the ranks, because there's no way someone with that much BP should suck that hard.

I don't know why, but "lol i dont mad over nooby wins" made me laugh so hard. It's like he made up a new meme or something.

Some things just never change. If there's one thing dey hatin', dey hatin' on, it's throws and taunts. Taunts alone seem to be a huge reason for player disconnects.

Did some player matches last night against a scrub player who bored me so much I switched to Dan to go against his flowchart Ken. Even just jumping around kicking randomly and taunting, I still beat him every time.
