Don't buy Tenchu for Wii. Controls are complete garbage, but the game itself seems interesting enough. Wait for PSP version if it does fix the controls.

Dude it's on the Wii. Most games on the Wii have the worst controls ever in addition to sub-PS2 graphics. It's just a horrible console that destroys most games put on it; end of story.

It actually looks great graphically, music is good too. The 'gameplay' is also fun, but the problem is that the controls are garbage. It pretty much feels like Splinter Cell with a Ninja now, and I like that, but I'd like it more if I was not struggling with the controls the entire time.

I am FLYING through the game. Sure I played Rikimaru's game on Wii, but it's more because of HOW MUCH BETTER IT PLAYS NOW. Battle are still in first-person, but much easier now. Instead of having to quickly turn the Wiimote at a precise angle (to be fair, this was supposed to be made easier in the U.S version), you just press a direction that flashes on the screen. The control issues are gone, the game still looks great (draw distance is not a problem), and everything is intact-- PSP superior version confirmed.

wow, this game is so much better on the PSP. Graphically it's also roughly the same.

ok, biggest change visually is the water. It's no longer clear and you can't see the cool underwater kill move.

and it seems like you can't quickly jump between gaps anymore when you climb on the ceiling planks.

I tried Tenchu 4 for the first time on psp. I actually think Acquire did a real good job at changing up Tenchu into something much better. The auto-kills within a certain range where the game TELLS YOU THE RANGE are a huge improvement. The ninja eye vision is excellent and the idea of just going with YOU-INVISIBLE and YOU-NOT-INVISIBLE areas instead of splinter cell/mgs varations of visibility actually works better and makes it more like a puzzle game. The lack of fighting is good too.

That being said the game is too much trial & error for me so I'll pass. Maybe I just didn't learn all the rules but I'd consistently be somewhere and have no idea what to do. Also I can't do any of the defending because I suck at the PSP analogue, so if I get spotted I'm dead.

But for people who like Tenchu it seems like a genuinely good game.
