Help me find a quote

I think it's a pretty well known quote about cars.

It was about the fact that if you asked people in the olden day what kind of transportation they wanted, they would have asked for more horses, or something along that line.
The bottom line was that you shouldn't ask the masses because they have no innovative vision.

I'm sure somebody knows the actual quote and who said it, please help because my memory and my google skills are failing me.

I will be needing this soon. I had a discussion with a webmaster about the direction his site should take, he wanted to tweek, I advised to change the direction. In the end he decided to ask the visitors, who are voting in his favour. When my defeat becomes clear, and the poll is closed, I will use this quote to still act superior.
