In case you didn't hear it yesterday, a full recorded audiotape surfaced with Christian Bale exploding on the set of Terminator 4 - at some the Director of Photography for "fucking up" his scene. Like, it sounds as if he was going to fight him. And no offense to the DP, but if BATMAN told me he was going to kick my ass, I'd beg for forgiveness.

The most interesting part of this whole debacle is that the studio sent the tape to an insurance company that insured the film if Bale, uh, bailed.

Nobody took a shit and it wasn't some random "lighting guy" - it was the director of photography, arguably one of the most important members of the crew on set. Now, tweaking your lights during a take is obviously a faux pas, but at the same time, Bale went totally insane. This type of behavior is excused because he's Christian Bale, though.

i was an extra in a couple of films made here in wilmington, and i remember all kinds of people moving around behind the scene while shooting was going on - they weren't making noise, just doing whatever the hell it is they were supposed to be doing

no one said shit about it

one of the movies was billy bathgate, directed by robert benton, who is no amateur

Well, maybe he yelled so intensely at the DP because it was an emotionally powerful scene. Like, maybe John Connor saw the love of his life and his kid getting sucked into a vortex, but he could only save one of them. And then the DP walked in his line of sight. That would make me so angry that I too would yell at the DP and then go home and beat my mom and my sister.

I'm just saying we shouldn't blame Christian until we hear his side of the story.

This is me. Probably why I don't get all the fuss. I've yelled my head off over things considerably stupider than work-related issues, and probably for quite a bit longer too. We're allowed occasional moments of idiocy. A better indication of character, I think, is how soon you're able to get over it, forgive and forget.
