Deer Hunter... How is it?

My friend hyped this movie up to me.  I've heard of it, but only that it's a really good film.  I saw it at Wal Mart for 10 bucks, so I decided to grab it. 

Before I pop it in, what's your opinions on it?

I read the back and the plot sounds interesting enough.

It's probably my favorite film about Vietnam, as great as Full Metal Jacket is.  Just a really emotional film.  The Ebert review sums it up well.

Seriously, it's a mindfuck of a great flick.  Some epic performances, so tense, it really gives you some insight into the lives of Vietnam vets and what they went through.
