Nobody should have told me about Intervention   I can already feel an America's Next Top Model relapse happening after I work through Intervention and the reality addiction is still there

Well, each episode of Intervention is stand alone, so I'm not sure if it quite fits in with other reality TV shows, other than it being awesomely exploitative and trashy and it makes me feel guilty.  I guess it's a sort of middle ground between a show like Mythbusters and mainline trashy reality TV.

Intervention is pretty awesome, but I'm constantly afraid that I'm going to see someone I know on the show.  Then I remember that everyone I know who was an addict I knew like 8 or 9 years ago, and that they're probably dead.

You should check out Celebrity Rehab Sober House on VH1.  A bunch of dumb, self entitled celebrities trying to kick their addictions in a sober living environment.  You've got yer porn star Mary Carey, yer former model Amber Smith, yer former GnR drummer and hilarious heroin addict Steven Adler, some dumb American Idol bitch that got fat after she stopped doing shit tons of blow, Rodney King, some one hit wonder band's lead singer and of course Andy Dick.  Hilarity ensues.

That stuff isn't hardcore or exploitative enough.  This is an example of my new baseline for trashiness.  You must be this trashy to have access to my brain:

Tamela is a 24-year-old girl from Arizona. She is a cutter. When Tamela was a little girl she was molested on three occasions. She never received therapy for these issues.  

Tamela cuts herself with razorblades as a way to cope with all the things in her life that cause her pain. She started her self-mutilation when she was 16-years-old. She is cutting because she feels disconnected from her parents and their strict Christian ways. She cuts because her relationship with her boyfriend is not stable. She cuts when she's feeling down or rejected. Hurting herself is the only way Tamela knows how to deal with the problems she's having. Help is desperately needed.

The show has probably been off my radar for 2 reasons.  One, no DVD releases.  The only DVD release last year was only like 4 episodes.  No season sets.  I don't get cable, so DVD is where it's at.  Two, I have heard of it a few times, but I think I filed it away under "reality TV shit" in my head.
