Green Man's thread of putting together a PC and 'Oh what the fuck, help'

So I finally got my case + motherboard today and figured I'd go ahead and put it together.

So, Ive installed:

-The CPU and put the heatsink on
-Installed the DVD Burner
-Installed the hard-drive
-Installed the ram

Since I don't have a DVI cable yet I couldn't install the 8600GT that Forgotten gave me. So I just decided to use the on board VGA port....and no image is displayed.

Though I can confirm that:

The computer powers on
The DVD burner opens
Both fans are spinning
The front LEDs light up

Now, I only have one SATA cable so I hooked it up to the DVD burner just to see if the PC would actually power up and go into bios. Will me not hooking up both the DVD and Hard Drive cause it no not work? Could it be the processor or the ram?

Take out the video card for now.

Unless you hear a beep(post) within 2 seconds of booting up, start unhooking things systematically(with the power off). Each time trying to boot after you disconnect a peripheral.

If you do get video on post, hit delete to get into your bios. Keep your mobo manual handy to navigate the bios.

If you get post after you remove the video card, proceed to install windows and install it later.

did your motherboard come with a disk? i had to use my mobo disk to download the usb drivers I needed
