The craziest gold standard thing I ever heard was from this guy on SA called TobleroneTriangular. He talked about something imaginary called "purestrain gold" and how it had magical inherent worth. He also liked talking about the dark cabal of international bankers.

I turned to Hannity a few weeks ago and his "panel" was himself, two conservative WSJ columnists and FRAN DRESCHER representing liberals. And was them 3 pestering her with detailed questions about the stimulus and proceeding to mock her for not knowing enough about it implying her lack of knowledge was obvious the same for all liberals. Painful.

This pretty much sums up why things are so fucked- Nouriel Roubini and Nassim Taleb, two guys who had the foresight to see the shitstorm coming, are trying to talk about how the system itself is fucked and needs to be reworked, and the idiot CNBC anchors keep asking them for stock tips.
