They should have used the Beatles original version of 'With a Little Help From My Friends' for their theme song.

Probably won't happen for a while because of all the music in the show.

No. Coker's version fit the American feel of the show much better, which was key. It's far more bluesy/earthy, which mirrored  some of the themes of the show

I was kidding and it is one of the few cover songs that is better than the Beatles original. I blame Ringo.

You were kidding, cool.  I actually LOVE the original, but Cocker's version rules on TWY.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
he did, in the last episode or so. they got into a huge argument which lead them to walk along the road forever, and then they were caught by a storm and ran into a barn and eventually they start making out and it fades out. The narrator doesnt directly says something like 'AND THEN 3 HOURS OF STEAMY GRUDGE FUCK HAPPENED' but just hints that "something happened and that things were never the same after all or something. Or was it something about now them being kids anymore. I cant remember

I loved that show; but it will never come out on dvd due to all the music used in it. There's a 11 dvds fanset of the whole thing floating around on the internet, go find it!

I agree. Ringo's rendition is rather iconic to me, but Coker makes the song his own. There are VERY, VERY few Beatles covers that are better than the original. Personally I would say Fiona Apple's version of Across the Universe is better than the Beatles' version; I prefer it at least.

On a side note, there are some truly terrible Beatles covers. Have you heard Ray Charles' version of  Eleanor Rigby? It's almost unbearable

I'm sorry, nothing tops Lennon's 'Across the Universe'. Listen to the version that Phil Spector didn't try to ruin from 'Let it Be Naked'.

1. I have a slight hearing problem so I like them.

2. Watching things with subtitles > * because you can catch so much you other wise missed.

I always watch my movies/tv shows with subs the first time when I watch a dvd. After that I don't need em.

Slight hearing problem? Do you have hearing aids?

It's nothing related to my actual hearing. My hearing is fine. It's a brain mechanism that identifies sounds that is the problem. I can hear you, but sometimes it'll come out as something different. Either gibberish or something like this:

You say,"I went to the store today." sometimes this is what I'll hear,"I went to the score todum." I ask you to repeat yourself and I'm fine.

With things like movies and tv shows, it's a lot less hassle if I watch with captions or subs.
