I just bought an outfit to wear to my Teach For America interview tomorrow.
Man, you know how fucking difficult it is to find an outfit in my size? I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs.; I'm short, but I'm not a midget. But places like Macy's quite literally don't carry men's clothes below size Medium and it's incredibly rare to find a pair of slacks in 30x30. But my shoe size is 9 so I was easily able to find a pair of Oxfords there. I went to Men's Wearhouse to get the rest of the goods: slacks, a shirt, a matching tie, and a belt. The only pants I had previously were cotton, the only button-up shirts I had were casual, and the only belts I had were for jeans.
In the end, I spent $250 on the whole ensemble. Better than the $600 for the only suit I could find that fit me off the rack. But Christ my wallet is hurting.
