You know, just because it's one ( if not the best ) game on 360 anyway. Plus with DR2 being announced, I say why not?

There will be no bitching itt about the save system or whatnot. I doubt alot of people have 1000/1000 in DR, so go for that if you need an excuse.

I should be getting it back in a few days, borrowed mine to a friend. Fuck I hope he finishes it soon.

just bought this the other day and I've played it for an hour or two. I'm not gonna lie, I'm honestly a little dissapointed with it so far. Some of the stuff like aiming seems dated (because it is now) and ugh @ all the escort missions. where the fuck do I take them, anyway? also jesus god frank is fucking ugly.

I just got slammed by the convicts in the outdoor area because I couldn't hit them and that stupid lady wasn't dodging their bullets. REALLY annoying. I hope the game clicks soon because I really want to like it.

Positive, few tips from what i can remember:

1- there is a secret shortcut in a W.C that goes straight to where the elevator/warehouse is located, it should be around where you fight that clown boss, youtube/google it (you will no longer need to fight the convicts through this shortcut).

2- convicts appear only once per day (out of 3 days) so if you kill them they won't respawn till the next day.

3- grind/die till you can run faster (should be around level 13 or so) game gets easier from this point on.

The aiming kinda sucked when it came out too

It's a very flawed game but it's one of a kind and I love it. My backlog is way too big to pick it back up though

edit: another protip: triple booking the mini chainsaws. This makes the game insanely easy once you've pulled it off though, so you might not want to.

yes, the clown chainsaws are the best so try to kill him first then get his weapons and do not worry if they break down, they will always respawn right where you fought him.

i only used books when i was doing that 7 days or something achievement and it was beautiful.

I've been waffling that re-play for a long time; it's a good game to replay, with so much to be done, and not being able to get all the Achievements in a single play-through. (Cue Demi in 5, 4, 3, 2...)

I think I haven't touched it in 2 years except to see how much better it looks on my 40" Bravia than on the 28" Trinitron I originally played it on. I wanted to see if the text was actually legible, but ended up being surprised at the crispness of the graphics.

The W.C. "magic mirror" shortcut only works if you rescue the security guard after defeating the clown.

...Man, that's a sentence that can only be used to describe a videogame.

As much fun as the game was, I wasn't fond of that mission, or the prat on the tank.

No need to play it over and over again.. just play it once killing zombies till you hit lvl 15 or something, after that restart with current stats and do the story.

Still have the game, but never played it longer than 5-6 hours.
I couldn't get into it. The concept of the game is still amazing, though.

I might give it a second chance. But I hope DR2 is more polished.

i actually gave it a second chance after not digging it the first time. SO glad i did. it just completely clicked. had a test playthrough where i did nothing but level up my character and mess around. now i'm playing the cases. i'm on the final day and the special forces have arrived. fuckers are annoying.

once i'm done with the story I'll probably do a psycho or survivor run. it's pretty amazing how well designed this game is. it's very quickly become my favorite 360 game next to crackdown.

btw i really don't get the save system bitching. it can be a bit troublesome to get stuff done if your level is still in the single digits, but every major section of the mall has a save spot and you can use the park to get to other areas quickly. this game would've sucked with auto or quick save.

Are you lvl 50 yet? Probably not right? Well I can't remember when you get the move, but ripping out special forces guts kills them instantly. That move is godlike and makes you almost invincible haha

The chainsaws are less fun if you're on escort missions. The survivor AI is so crappy that the best way to keep them being distracted by the zombies is to spam the "Follow me!" button. But doing that sometimes makes them run right up next to Frank while he's having a little chainsaw party, and then you have a dead, dumb survivor.

This thread and the announcement of DR2 is really making me want to go back and play through DR1 again. I think what I'll do is forget the story for a while, build up my character, and then start over at a high-level.

how the fuck do you get the hella copter achievement? i have about 4 full machineguns on me, keep shooting at it when it stays still, but that thing won't go down. i even went to the gun shack to get a sniper or two, but i can never get a clear shot on the guys inside.

i'm standing on the roof near paradise plaza. maybe there's a better spot?

i finally figured out an easy way after x attempts. I just waited for him to turn, then aimed for the tail. he went down instantly. annoying achievement though.

got the true ending yesterday. DR > MGS when it comes to fist fights on a tank. now I'm doing maintenance tunnel laps for zombie genocider.

So I re-picked this one up today. Seems I've left Frank at lvl11 when I stopped playing the game almost two years ago.
The game is still pretty hard and annoying, urgh. Now I now why I stopped playing.

I'm currently at lvl 22. The zombies are manageable when you're alone. But the escort missions really break the game IMO.
They really need to fix that in DR2. And the weapon/item equip, too.
I hate it when a weapon breaks and I accidentally use a queen/health item during the action when I don't need it...

The graphics still look pretty good. The amount of zombies on screen still impress me.

How the fuck is possible to beat some of the bosses barehanded? Particularly the car chase with Carlito in the garage or when you first encounter him and have to shoot him to pieces? He's so much more fast. How could you hit him with your fists?

I did all the case files and everything, but because I didn't pick up Isabella before going to the helipad I get the shit ending? I didn't know I had to get her because I ignored her stupid transceiver call because I was getting ass raped by zombies. So I basically have to replay the entire game again if I want to get any of the extra fun?

the tranceiver stuff is definitely fucked up. i just did a run to get the 2 last psycho achievements, but around the final day i suddenly realized i didn't get my fat cop and cult leader calls. what caused it... beats me. all i know is that i have to go through another 72 hours just for that.

i found out the reason for my psycho run failure: there can only be 8 survivors in the mall at a time... fat bitch and cult guy both have 4 women held hostage, so if you have a few survivor quests open you're fucked. ah well

In my case, she drover her Harley up my ass several times, so I finally went outside, beat up the convicts, took their gun, and used it on Isabella. She's a 10 second boss if you've got that gun.

Isabella was easy. I stood on a stack of dry wall and she got glitched and kept driving in the same loop over and over. I did her in with two handguns.

it can be done if you're going through the story since they give you 2 psychos there. i didn't want to play through that again so i planned on doing all the optional ones (these add up to 10), but I took on too many survivor rescues

Spent the day playing through again AND did Overtime mode. So awesome. I wonder how the cave sequence in Overtime will look in the Wii version. There were so many zombies in that tunnel.

Am I far into the game? Had fun 'til now.

By the way, can you somehow escape from the yellow psychopat infested basement? I died twice after they drugged me and locked me up in the box.
