I've been cooking up a film-related podcast for awhile - well before Prole and Eel rolled out our much beloved Borecast. I'd even like to have Prole on at some point to harshly criticize my pop film geek sensibilities and angrily raise his fists back and forth at modern cinema. I've also contacted a few of our members in assisting with the blogcast or doing guest spots, which I hope they will as we progress.

The showrunners are myself, my buddy Mike (NYFA film grad based out of Los Angeles who does sound work) and our very own, Eric P. After tinkering with our sound gear and a few unintentionally hysterical test runs (I will detail this later), we will begin recording the "pilot" for the show this weekend to see if we our goals are too ambitious or if we can pull off this slight sound engineering feat.

Be forewarned, I'm not aiming to entertain all the folks here (totally different demographic and material that some of you are not interested in here) and none of us our proper radio folks. I've got a face for radio and a voice for message boards; as Eric P said, "A man only Helen Keller could love." Prepare to be underwhelmed!

That said, if you guys wanted to help out, you could call the studio phone at 818-528-5009 and leave us a voicemail for our inaugural podcast. Keep in mind, we're film related and we'll be doing a Friday the 13th centric podcast (and probably talking about Bale, film novelizations, etc.), so anything in the realm of those two would be most beneficial for use. We'll be playing the best at the end of the show.

I'm also available on Skype (user name will.federman) if you guys want to leave one that way or just shoot the shit as I work on some show stuff on my end.

I'm leaving this to my pal, Mike - since he has all high end sound gear and editing equipment with him in Los Angeles. The only thing is that he's working tirelessly doing sound on a shoot and he'll get one day off before he has to start editing the show together.

I was trying to do elaborate bumpers, but we kind of killed that idea after a day. Just editing that on my end was not fun. We're going to stick to a new concept for segment breaks that I think a few of you will find neat.

To be fair, I was totally oblivious to Prole and Eel's show. I kind of sat on the project because I wanted to buy some nice sound gear, software, etc. Once I got that together and Eric P, Mike and myself began to loosely assemble the show format - Prole and Eel beat us to the punch!

Just leave comments. You can always submit questions and requests - who knows, we might have a place for them on the actual show. This is just a general all-purpose voicemail to let you anyone call in and blab away. Rant about some movie you saw. Tell me my opinion on Transformers sucks. Ask us why we have too much spare time. Tell it like how it is!

prole and i just got tired of the eb podcast subject coming up all the time, and the aborted 2007 thing we tried to do over ventrilo had always left a bad taste in my mouth - i hate giving up on stuff

i am looking forward to listening to your podcast - do you guys have a name for it yet?

We did, but Eric P and I are no longer fond of it (I don't think he ever was). We're batting around suggestions. I gather we'll finalize the name once we do album artwork.

Hey guys.

We spent almost two hours recording material that probably won't air, although I will say after we got over a rough, awkward start - we had fun. Eric P is pretty awesome, and makes the show. It gave us a good blueprint.

That said, somebody didn't save their audio properly, so a good portion of the show is in the netherworld of cyberspace.

We're aiming to post the first episode sometime late next week.

We talked about how Eric had the idea of reading excerpts of stuff before you did, and as so, we would make you AN ENEMY OF THE SHOW. But then we also said we loved you. We found some great novelizations for the show - including an audiobook of TimeCop!

Totally. He's super knowledgeable and doesn't sound like a sixteen-year-old chode (unlike me).

We made a lot of mistakes, but we'll learn from them. We did have a tendency to say a lot of funny comments while we were not recording and we need to save some of that for the show. We got some technical kinks worked out too.
