Dead Space sucked. And the controls in Res5 work, it's not as if they are glitchy or any shit like that, they have rules. And considering Res4 is one of the best games ever made, i have a hard time believing that RES5, is suddenly dated.

Anyway, Onimusha sucks dick. And Lost Planet 2 is coming, even though Lost Planet 1 was mediocre, and had a horrible story, and was boring.

Oh, and Sheva's AI isn't so bad when you play through the demo a few times. She's actually pretty useful. I've played the demo enough times on SP to see that she's more useful than not useful. At first I thought her AI was bad, but now I've been able to predict what she's going to do that I'm having no problems. Of course, this is just the demo but still.

The co-op AI is actually really decent in this game. You benefit a lot more working with her than just hoarding all of the supplies. The online co-op is still of course better though.

One thing that I really hope they have is point multipliers like the skulls in Halo 3 so you can choose how smart or strong the enemy is rather than just raise the difficulty.

i toyed around with d since a felt awkward on the 360 controller at first, after playing the ps3 demo, somehow i got more used to a. now I think on the 360 c is the best because you can still strafe around while not aiming to make moving around things quicker, plus then the aiming controls are pretty much what a is.

This seems like RE4 in that you start in interesting locales and end up in some industrial zombie biker island. I actually stopped playing disc 2 for that reason, but came back a few years later and beat it.

While I think you're wrong about the co-op (it rocks) I'm pretty worried about the single-player. I don't have faith in Capcom pulling off what's essentially a giant 14 hour escort mission.

We'll have to see when the game comes out to see how much of a nuisance Sheva is.

Dead Space is awesome. So awesome that I bought the PC and Xbox 360 versions to support the developers. Resident Evil 5 does feel dated after playing games like Gears of War and Dead Space, which had very fluid and silky smooth controls.

There's something about the game that seemed off while playing the demo, like everything was static and the response was off. Plus it really didn't help the my wonderful A.I. partner got stuck numerous times and really didn't bother shooting anyone.

I really enjoyed Resident Evil 4 on the PlayStation 2 because it was such a dynamic leap from the previous games, now that time has passed and Ive replayed the wii version, I just don't see it as one of the best games ever anymore(though it's still a good game).

Oh and you suck a huge bag full of dicks. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is still one of the best games ever made for the PlayStation 2, and Lost Planet was an amazing game right up until the very last boss fight. The game had this very old school feeling but it was still extremely fast and fun.

Lost Planet: Colonies was even better considering the changes to the multiplayer. LP also has one of the best maps ever made for a game.

Gears of War isn't going for the same thing though. Also, in Dead Space, you can kill most enemies before they even get in your face. A part of the great thing about RE is the tension. "I have to kill this guy before he gets in my face and rips it off." it's totally different types of game design. I personally felt the controls in RE5's demo were as fluid as Gears of War because it doesn't try to emulate Gears of War, it's RE5. And for all the stuff people compliment GoW's controls being, there's been more times when I played GoW and fucked up because of the controls than in RE4 or what I've played of RE1-3. Especially if you stick to the wrong wall/object/whatever. Not to mention, the cover gunplay that's been popular since Gears isn't even my type of thing. It makes battles so slowwwww and borrrrrring and repetitiveeeee. Oh great, shoot the guy when his head pops out of his hiding place. ZZZ.

How does strafe work in RE5? I tried C and they seemed identical to RE1-3 controls and less like RE4 ones.

I might be mixing up C with B, maybe, I don't know. It pretty much works by having the left analog stick being forward/back/strafe left/strafe right, right stick act as turning/looking. Basically like almost any dual stick shooter. The difference between D is that all the combat controls remain the same as RE4, so knife on left trigger and right trigger being ready pistol. You can't run while strafing either, it's just a really slow side step, but it helps moving around the level.

Naw. C definitely had strafe. But the thing that confused me was that...the controls were definitely different, but it didn't feel like a strafe. It felt like traditional tank controls. I'll give it another shot later.
