I was holding out for 1080p at the time as well, but I figured that the difference was marginal. I think 720p is just fine for anyone on a budget. The only complaint I have about my tv is that there is no composite or s-video input, only 3 HDMI slots, and 2 component.

$16.00 at Circuit City during their 2G2D sale. I wanted to stop by just to see the old place dismantled, as I had shopped on and off there for years now.

Going to play a couple of games and then download the A Murder of Crows expansion of Gamersgate if I like it.

Excellent choice! I bought a 52" 750 Samsung LCD this year as well and have been extremely pleased with it. When I popped in Texas Chainsaw Massacre (OG) on my first day and cranked up the picture to 120hz I was amazed on how different it looked.  Though I wouldn't use it for everything, it's a great way to make old films feel like new again. Coming off a pretty good Sony CRT HDTV I was worried about lag but I was relieved that even with all the details cranked up I was able to pull off good scores in Super Stardust HD and play some good matches in Street Fighter 2.

Got the Halo 3 CE. Now I understand why it's cheaper than the regular edition; the damned discs were loose in the tin, so both the game disc and the extras disc are scratched. Fucking DVDs.

If you bought it new you can exchange it.  Microsoft has an exchange program as this is known issue.
