I'm noticing most games seem to throw more gfx glitches when installed to the HDD.  I even had a few with FEAR2.  With GTA4 I had enemies popping in a car length ahead when installed.

This is the first time since GTA III I haven't bought a title at launch. We're all buried under our stack of to-be-played games, but US$20 for additional story isn't attractive to me. I really hoped they'd add jobs or minigames, like bringing back Firefighter and Ambulance.

I may have had enough of the renewed Liberty City. I'ma go back to Stillwater.

GTA needs to get with the times and include 'activities' now. It always seems so empty and pointless when you've completed the story missions.

Anyway I just need to get the 'knock 69 bikers off with a bat' achievement then I'm done with this. I'm suprised there wasn't a completing it 100% achievement, seeing that they went to the trouble of adding seagulls and extra jobs.

I got kinda deperessed when I saw San Andreas for 1200 points - it makes TLAD look like a rip-off. Oh well.

I think I've been a bit harsh on the dlc with my earlier criticism. It seems you can do extra missions by calling up the lawyer. I don't know how many missions there are, but I'm 2 in and already they are suprisingly well done considering they have nothing to do with the 'story' missions. Alot better than those 'hitman telephone booth' ones from Niko's story anyway.

How's the soundtrack? I read Statik Selecta handled it

Dont know if you'll read this, but it's got it's good and bad things.
There's alot of new songs in there, ranging from autotune bullshit/akon to Talib/Consequence/Saigon.

It's cool.

Oh and I finished it today, it was awesome. Sooo much better than the normal story. Fucking Niko, bitchass pussy that he is. I loved

Also stuff was added to vladivostok FM, however it isn't listed on the website. I know for a fact there's new songs on there, cause I never heard alot of them before.

Vladivostok, Radio Broker, and Liberty City Rock were all really good stations in the original. Wasn't too stoked on Hardcore, and that shit turned on EVERY time I got on a bike, it seemed like.

Holy fuck the credits are amazing.  I think both the game and expansion are great, so it's not a put down when I say the credits are a highlight.

same here

I was actually the only person in my Stop n Save software to buy GTA3 for the first few days.

to be fair, Lost and Damned isn't a new game.  It's even less than Vice City/Liberty City stories.

No, it's pretty much just that.  Same length and all. Plus the game focuses on a lot of unused areas from GTA4 so even though you're in the same fimilar city you're doing it in different locations so it still feels fresh.  I didn't think they could make Liberty City seem new again but I guess it goes to show just how brilliant the design was the first time around.  They probably won't be able to do it again for whatever the second DLC turns out to be but it works here.

And I know EB hates GTA4 and all but I'm having a blast with L&D.  I have yet to run into a lame mission, the biker/gang warfare is pretty interesting, the weapon additions are great, and the Rock station now is probably the best radio station in any GTA game.  Well worth the 20 bucks imo.

BTW, I captured the dong in HD for all you fegs out there.

I'm basing it on the lengths of each game.  I heard this was 8 to 12, the 'stories' games were closer to 20 for me.  And I'd totally play this if it was on PS3 or PC; it was my mistake to get GTA4 on the PS3 in the first place, but I'm not about to rebuy it a slightly improved version of the game for this DLC, at least not for more than $10

and that capture is really good.  Videos from other sites always have it look grainy and bad.

I finished the main story in about 12 hours of recorded playtime. There's definitely some dicking around I did with saves that isn't on record. I still have lots of side missions to do.  I do wish there were more achievements in the expansion. I know DLC only have so many points, but they could have broken them down further. All things considered, I have to say the expansion is well worth the $20.

So there are story missions and races -- what else? Any other modes or minigames? Do you have to take anyone bowling?

Gangwars. If you've played SA, then you know what this is about. Plus there's some bike stealing and Stubbs deals out some pretty interesting jobs.  I guess if you want to waste your time with arm wrestling and the high and low card game, there's that as well.  You don't have to take anyone anywhere if you don't want and if you do you don't have to drop them off since they all basically live at the clubhouse.  Taking various Lost members on missions though is a good idea since you can build up their combat stats.

IMO, if you can't get into Lost and Damned then you probably never a fan of GTA to begin with.  Even with the shortened length, I've had about as much fun with L&D as I did with SA.

I beat it yesterday and it was definitely a more cohesive and interesting story than whatever Nico's story turned into.  The bike races were rad and most of the missions were fun enough with fewer annoyances thanks to the mid-mission checkpoints.  I really, really like what Rockstar did with this DLC.
